FABELO’S ANATOMYNew works by Cuban artist Roberto Fabelo
June 28–September 28, 2014
Juan Delgado Calzadilla, Curator
Al techo del seno / At the Celling’s Breast
Roberto Fabelo’s images appear to us from a different dimension. Many of his works feature female subjects, water, birds and other winged creatures. These haunting and unusual figures force the viewer to question their own perceptions of reality and fantasy.
Fabelo’s timeless images contain references to Dante’s Divine Comedy, Gabriel Garcia Marquez’s magical realism, the surreal world of Bosch, the soul of Rembrant and the draftsmanship of the Dutch and Flemish masters.
