Summit Metal Fabricators (SMF) provided the miscellaneous metals and stainless steel for renovations and improvements in Terminal C at Logan International Airport in Boston, MA. SMF Provided the following fabrications: • Stainless Steel exterior egress stair • Radius glass ramp railing • Glass smoke baffle at escalator / elevator area • Glass railing in Jetblue ticket hall • Lounge Stair with brushed stainless steel riser plates and stainless steel handrails • Extensions of the existing stainless steel rails • Stainless steel info bar supporting flight info monitors There were many challenges to overcome on this project: • The SMF Team had to go through TSA checks when entering and exiting the work site • Many of the installations were performed during off-hours • Close coordination with other trades was required to ensure that multiple finishes lined up properly • A stair was erected on the tarmac while airline activity was ongoing • Installation of glass railings was done in an active ticket hall while working around passengers All work was completed within a compressed schedule required by the owner.
