Changes….

Before Applying for Accreditation

Operated the certification process for at least 6 months and completed at least two initial/rec-certification audits for new applicant and one initial/ rec- certification audit for applicant as additional scheme accreditation including the decision making process. This is necessary to assess the ability of the CB to carry out the certification process as per the documented system

Changes (4.3.1.1)

• In case of applicant CB applying for accreditation as an additional scheme under 17021, only one witness audit is required before a recommendation for accreditation is made.

Re-accreditation (7.3.3)

• On completion of the re-assessment, the accredited certification body shall initiate the relevant activities to take corrective actions on the observed non conformities, if any, and complete all actions as per the criteria of the Board to close all such critical & major non-conformities. All minor non- conformities must have been addressed and proposed corrective actions accepted by the team before renewal decisions

10.0 Change in the status of the Certification Body

Addition/cancellation of any branches / sub-contractors, foreign locations where clients are located / operations related to certification are performed

Document review

• As 1st scheme Accreditation - 2 mandays

• As Additional scheme-1 manday

• Expected to do only clause 7 & 9 of applicable standard

(CB shall declare that the existing accredited scheme/s implemented is same and applicable for additional scheme also)

Initial OA • As 1st scheme Accreditation - 4 mandays

• As Additional scheme- 2 manday (stand alone)

• Combined with other scheme-1 md additional

• Expected to focus more on clause 7 & 9 of applicable standard, when combined or as additional scheme

• Final report preparation, in case of new accreditation-1.5 md (1st scheme) and 1 md for additional scheme accerditation.

Witnessing requirements

• As 1st scheme Accreditation – 2 WAs (no specific no of MDs)

• As Additional scheme- 1 WA .

• To be completed by NABCB—other AB’s report shall not be considered in case of one witness requirement.

NCs Closure timeline (draft)

• NC resolution time Critical-30days to be agreed by both AB & CB or IB / MAJOR-60days/minor-15+10+15+10/120days

• Only PCA to be provided by the CB as first step to attempt to address any NCs

• Before finalizing the no of alteration for CAs and penalty after certain alteration needs to discuss in the CB meeting

NCs Closure timeline (draft)

• If after 2 proposed CAP, the CB will be charged for 1 manday and same principle is applicable for implementation of CAs-applicable to all type of assessments except initial assessment

• After 3rd iteration-that needs to be escalated to secretariat for further action and the issue should be addressed to CEO directly

NCs

• If any NCs/Concerns are not addressed timely and are outstanding as seen in the next office assessment- a year later, the assessors have been advised to upgrade them to next category (Concern—minor NC—Major NC—Critical) and any major NCs would need follow up visit.

Other issues

If DR is not accepted after 3rd iteration-the application will be rejected-2nd (may be) and 3rd will be chargeable for 1 manday.

Contract review /previous SA report related issue pertaining to the WA may be raised as NC and as part of the present WA

17021-2011 scope sector based on commonalities of processes - Association of CBs to prepare the draft guidance doc
