Facility Description:

Martin Luther King Jr. High School campus consists of one main school building located 3991 Snapfinger Road in Lithonia, Georgia. The original campus was constructed in 2001 and there have been no additions or major renovations to the main school building. In addition to the main school building, the campus contains a storage building, baseball field, softball field, dugouts, football field, tennis courts, and track. This report contains condition and adequacy data collected during the 2010/2011 Facility Condition Assessment (FCA). The detailed condition and deficiency statements are contained in this report for each building and other facilities on the campus.

Replacement of the rain water drainage system is needed and should include connecting the system to a network of subsurface storm drain piping designed to direct the rainwater away from the building and foundation.

Martin Luther King Jr. High School was constructed in 2001 and serves students in grades 9-12. The building is a

two -story structure and offers traditional academic programs and a number of vocational technical programs. In

addition eight modulars containing 4 classrooms each, and 5 trailers are located on the site.

Suitability - High School->Site-->Play Courts & Fields

The play courts/fields are large enough to allow for organized and free play. However, they are not fully developed

and some of the track surface is rough. A section of the play field does not have grass, and therefore becomes

muddy during inclement weather.

An electronic sign identifying the school is located on the main thoroughfare, but the building is not visible.
