Facility Management and Operations FMO Advisory Services Workshops FMO Advisory Services workshops provide a collaborative and programmatic approach that will prepare a data center for effective and efficient operations on Day 1 (‘Go Live’). The FMO Advisory Services integrated approach ensures that the facilities management program is executed in parallel with the design and build of a new facility, rather than after turnover. Alternately, Uptime Institute can assist organizations on a customized basis at any stage of the data center life cycle. These services are adaptable to an organization’s specific needs or challenges for a single project or an entire portfolio. FMO Advisory Services can: • Accelerate building a new operations program • Prepare new facilities for effective and efficient operations on Day 1 Improve an existing operations program • Provide unbiased third-party reviews and recommendations based on industry standards • Ensure industry standards are the benchmark for continuous monitoring and refinement • Establish and sustain multi-site/multi-provider operations consistency • Optimize facility operations to meet organizational uptime and business objectives • Ensure that the capital investment made in a data center will produce the most efficient returns possible Advisory Services Uptime Institute’s Facility Management and Operations (FMO) methodology helps data centers develop, implement, and sustain operating strategies and practices that ensure maximum uptime, optimize performance, and reduce risk and cost. The proprietary FMO methodology is based on the Uptime Institute Tier Standard: Operational Sustainability, our failure analysis research and knowledge base, and insights gleaned from decades of field experience working with hundreds of data center organizations around the globe. FMO Advisory Services are delivered by Uptime Institute Professional Services Principals and Senior Consultants with deep expertise and decades of experience in data center operations and facility management. Consultants will provide guidance to accelerate decision making and lay the foundation for subsequent key steps in the development of an effective facility management and operations program. Workshop participants will be trained to apply best practice tools and processes to achieve and sustain operating excellence and meet client uptime and business objectives. The FMO program incorporates five modules that can be implemented in sequence concurrent with each step in the design and construction of a new data center facility, or individual modules can be applied to your current organizational phase.
