Land Breezes El Nino and La Nina END SLIDE OF FACTZ
Slide 4
Clouds there are 3 different types of clouds that I learned
about clouds are made up of tiny dust particles, ice crystals, and
water droplets clouds have precipitation and they fall as Rain,
Snow, Sleet, or Hail Stratus clouds are flat and featureless,
appearing as layered sheets. Cumulus clouds are puffy, like cotton
floating in the sky. Cirrus clouds are thin and wispy, appearing
high in the sky.
Slide 5
Frontz There are 4 different types of Frontz that I learned
about Cold front- it forms when a cold air mass moves under a warm
air mass- they bring heavy rain, thunderstorms, and sometimes snow-
the color of the front is Blue Warm front- it forms when a warm air
mass moves up and over a cold air mass- they bring rain, drizzle,
and sometimes clear weather- the color of the front is red
Stationary front- it forms when 2 air masses meet and do not want
to move- they bring clear weather- the color of the front is red
and blue Occluded front- it forms when 2 cold air masses move
toward each other, warmer air is between them and pushed upward-
they bring plenty of rain and plenty of snow the color of the front
is purple
Slide 6
Lighting Lightning is usually produced by cumulonimbus clouds
Lightning can be a lot of different colors Ex: Pink, or Blue)
lightning strikes in seconds
Slide 7
Weather tools the weather tool's are Wind Vane, Thermometer,
Barometer, Anemometer, and Rain Gauge Wind Vane is a instrument
that measure's the direction of the wind Thermometer measure's the
air temperature Barometer measure's air pressure Anemometer
measures wind speed Rain Gauge measure's the amount of rain Wedge
Type: easier to read with smaller amounts of precipitation is a
type of rain gauge
Slide 8
Sea and Land Breezes The Sea breezes cause a decrease in the
land breeze near the ocean In Daytime cool air flows toward land
creating sea breeze In Nighttime cool air over land moves toward
the ocean which creates a land breeze
Slide 9
El Nino and La Nina La Nina was the opposite of El Nino El Nino
is warmer than La Nina (La Nina) El Nio usually causes droughts in
the western Pacific Heavier rains in the eastern Pacific La Nia
winds blow more heavily than normal causing more cold water to rise
Spread westward across the Pacific. La Nia cause a slight dip in
the jet stream Brings colder weather to North Carolina.
