AT Summer School

AT SUMMER SCHOOL

This summer school special is a unique opportunity

to experience Anatomy Trains in Motion framed

with Slings Myofascial Training. It is a rich, well-

rounded course, filled with sound information

about training fascia consciously and utilizing Tom

Myers’ myofascial meridians as a multidimensional

body map in movement.

WHEN & WHERE

July 12th - July 15th, 2016Walpole, Maine, USA

WHO SHOULD ATTEND?

The course invites Anatomy Trains-savvy movement

teachers and therapists interested in expanding their

existing body of work with new myofascial training

tools.

While we will be looking at the value of Anatomy

Trains as a multidimensional body map for body-

mind movement, time is too short to delve into

the Anatomy Trains’ history, rules and body reading

principles. Hence reasonable familiarity with the

Anatomy Trains concept is expected to allow us

to venture into myofascial training with ease and

clarity.

ABOUT ANATOMY TRAINS IN MOTION & SLINGS MYOFASCIAL TRAINING

About Anatomy Trains in Motion

Anatomy Trains in Motion is a course specifically designed for modern movement teachers and therapists

who want to expand their professional horizon and expertise in structural integration through movement.

Whatever your movement modality, Anatomy Trains in Motion offers skills that will add a new dimension

to your teaching and practice.

About Slings Myofascial Training

Slings is a myofascial training concept based on somatic and scientific insights, integral anatomy and

many years of teaching experience.

While a substantial portion of the modular education is spent on movement relevant fascial properties

and the Slings teaching methodology, the majority is about movement itself.

Slings Myofascial Training comprises a rich blend of exercises that optimize movement efficiency and

structural balance. Specific myofascial training principles and techniques have been developed to

enhance short and long-term goals such as bodywide dynamic stability, movement ease, resilience, (self-)

awareness and clear body language.

The purposefully sequenced training is adaptable and as versatile as life; it is functional movement for

body, mind and soul.

COURSE DESCRIPTION

Day 1: Fascia in Motion & Slings Essentials

The first day is all about fascia, its properties,

architecture and movement qualities. We will be looking

at the spectrum of consciously training fascia in general

and within Slings Myofascial Training specifically.

Of course the day is interspersed with movement,

including contrasting Slings in Motion lessons and

specific exercise sequences to embody the theory.

Day 2 & 3: Anatomy Trains in Motion

At the center of the Anatomy Trains in Motion days

are the myofascial meridians and their value as a multi-

dimensional body map for movement teachers.

Understanding and embodying the lines’ anatomy,

workings, sensory qualities and relationships are

invaluable teaching tools.

Linking it all to daily life, we will discuss the

‘essential events’ necessary to efficiently engage

myofascial meridians in walking and how to integrate

the concept in conscious movement training.

The content of these two days is framed by a Slings-

based Anatomy Trains in Motion lesson, which in-

corporates all that has been discussed with thought-

through, feel-good movement.

Day 4: Integration

The fourth day is about integration, movement

refinement and knowledge consolidation.

We will be focusing on eight clearly defined fascial

qualities that are utilized in movement. The move-

ment focus will be on a selection of some of the best

Slings in Motion exercises, each of which is a gem.

In combination they form a seamlessly flowing and

functional movement-sequence.

The day will conclude with mellow motion and time

for well-needed absorption.
