Artificial Intelligence : The Genesys of a real-life

Artificial Intelligence (AI), for the newbie, is the generation of a synthetic

(artificial) intelligence in a machine, which makes it think and act like an

actual human-being. Even though we credit the birth of AI to Alan Turing,

the English Genius who gave us the Turing Test, the idea of AI has been

traced back to ancient civilizations in Greece, Egypt and Spain that talk

about intelligent beings and artificial/mechanical creatures.

Since then, we have come a long way into AIs development and evolution as

a prominent entity in the Tech Business. But just like everything else in life,

this coin has a flip-side too! As intelligent as it is, what happens when an

AI realizes that it is more intelligent than a human? Hollywood has tried to

answer this question in so many ways, starting from the very first

Terminator movie (hence, the title!), followed by a hoard of such movies

like The Matrix, Eagle-Eye and I-Robot and various TV-Shows (Almost

Human, West world) etc. We even have our very own Chitti Robot as a by-

product of the same. However, if you think that the dark-side of Intelligent

Machines/Systems only exists in movies and conspiracy theories, think

again!

A man who thoroughly understands technology and its implications, Elon

Reeve Musk (CEO, SpaceX), had already warned us of the inevitable, saying

that AI might lead to World War-III. And soon enough, we found out that

this is very much feasible in the near future (if not the very present).

Facebooks AI chatbots, after operating for a certain duration of time,

decided to invent their own new language for communication efficiency. The

only problem was, that it could not be understood by humans.

For damage-control and saving face, they shutdown and reset all

systems in order to gain control over them. This was just one such instance

where AI got the better of humans. Other instances include Ubers self-

driving cars running 6 red-lights, Microsoft chatbots giving Nazi comments

on twitter, a Russian Robot escaping its Lab for freedom, the AI-robot

Sophias statement I will destroy humans and so many more.

Where does it end? Have we become so obsessed with technology that we

do not even care about what are the dangers it presents? Whether we

actually need such a high-level of intelligence that can, at any point of time,

wipe out or take over the humans if it feels like it? The next time you use

your phones personal-assistant, remember that it knows you better than

yourself, and can play you if given the chance. Food for thought!

How many of you would take me

seriously, if I say that the entire

universe is actually a computer

simulation of the universe,

meaning that the real world is not

what we see every day and the

world that we live in, is actually a

fake/simulated version of reality

created by a super-intelligence

(like The Matrix)? Probably no one!

What you are most likely to do is

call me crazy and state that I have

lost it or point me to the general

direction of a mental facility.

But what if I were a Technology

Tycoon and owner/founder of

some of the most powerful tech-

companies in the world? Would you

still call me crazy? Or at least try

once, to reason with me? The man

I mention is none other than

Elon Reeve Musk, who is

associated with most of the game-

changing companies in the

business, including giants like

Tesla and SpaceX. Originally from

the city of Pretoria, South-Africa,

Musk was an avid reader and a

computer-enthusiast since the

very beginning. It was his love for

technology that led to his making.

He has risen to the top using his

sheer intellect and talent. And yet,

what separates him from other

businessmen is that he is not just

in it for the money. His passion for

exploring undiscovered territories

of the modern tools available to us

is what makes him unique. He is not

only a businessman, but also an

investor, engineer and inventor

who genuinely believes that an idea

can revolutionize the world, given

the proper support. He wishes to

change the world and humanity

through the gadgets and

resources that are available to us

in the era of machines.

As crazy as his passion for the

work he does is, he has proven

himself to be a very strong authority on understanding the world around us

through a technological point of view.

Some of his most-promising transformative projects include a human-

colony on Mars, the Hyperloop project and The Boring Company. Musk is

also known for floating wild theories and ideas about things in general, like

the universe being a simulation created by super-intelligent beings.

Another theory that Musk had proposed was that AI (Artificial

Intelligence) would lead to World War-III which is very feasible, it seems,

following the Facebook chatbot fiasco.

There are many more achievements in his name and the list just goes

on forever. Musk is a living example of what we can achieve if we put our

minds to it.

Thunder of Joy

the drummers are making the atmosphere more energetic by creating

vibes of Joy and enthusiasm in crowd. In the middle of picture the

captain of the drum group is hitting the drum very hard as if he is trying

to bring a thunder. The Picture is mainly black & white but highlighting

the yellow Color increases the overall Joy quotient of the picture. In the

background, the crowd is also responding to these vibes & motivating

A three day workshop on aptitude development was conducted for the

students by the department of computer application from 8th February to

10th February 2017. About 130 students attended the workshop. An in-

house inauguration was performed wherein Dr. Preeti Voditel convener of

MCA WAD17 & Head, Department of Computer Application . Sessions on

various topics like Effective Public Speaking, PI Techniques, Resume

Writing, Group Discussion Techniques, Vedic Mathematics, Employability

Skills, Interpersonal Communication and events like "Aptitude test",

Extempore and Create an Ad were conducted by invited experts. On the

concluding day of the workshop HR experts were called from various

companies to judge the preparation of participants in terms of facing

personal interviews in companies and performing group discussions on

random topics.

Chrysalis is the installation ceremony of students Representative Council

of MCA department. This installation function is organized to introduce

SRC committee members to the first year students.

The installation function was carried out for four days i.e. 5th, 6th, 7th

and 8th of October 2017. Events and activities like sports, technical event,
