About the University
Sushant School of Business, is pleased to organize a Faculty Development Programme on “Application of Research Meth-ods (SPSS)”. This two day workshop will have interlinked sessions on different components of research cycle. This is instituted keeping in mind the urgent need to support the re-searching skills and aptitude among novice researchers.
Data Analysis or Statistical Analysis is unavoidable in business decision making due to increased competition in every sphere of business. A growing number of formally educated business executives tend to club their common sense conclusions with scientific reasons and logics. Faculty members, researchers and management students find Data Analysis or Statistical Analysis an integral part of their contents for discussion/learning. The program is designed to cover all relevant aspects of Statistical Data Analysis starting from the very basics of Data Prepara-tion, Data Cleaning to Advance Statistical Techniques includ-ing the theoretical aspects behind such techniques.

The Sushant School of Business has
been at the epicentre of transforma-tional capabilities where the founda-
tion is laid with the objective of combining traditional Indian values
with dynamic global understanding of learning. It has come a long way in redefining the typical and archaic
methodologies of teaching and
shaped them into more fluid and non- conservative approach to making the
future leaders of the corporate and society. The same ideology blends perfectly with the academic enhance-
ment programmes in sync with War-wick and is supportive of the fact that
learning in today’s age needs more visual memory and on-the job expo-
sure through various in-built and collaborative efforts of the institu-
tion. It was the culmination of more than a year’s of deliberations through the signing of an MOU between
Ansal University and University of Warwick. This makes it possible to
embed Warwick University academic inputs into the Business Management
programs at Sushant School of Busi-ness, Ansal University making it the
first of its kind in India. This concert-ed arrangement not only brings in a synergistic use of academic resources
across campuses, rather, it also adds flavour by offering global, exposure to
our students, which in turn brings forth a wider perspective of learning
& growth.
The FDP aims at bringing together early and mid-career academicians and researchers of disciplines on a single platform and engage in an immersive experience to augment, reinforce and enliven their research skill sets. The participants will be ex-posed to methods and techniques involved in de-veloping research intent and design, methodology and techniques, data management and statistical analysis, format and presentation.

SPSS software (trial version) must be installed in the laptops by participants. All concepts will be explained with the help of Data Sets with the application of SPSS and decoding of interpretations. Exercises are also in-cluded for practicing the discussed concepts and applica-tions. Participants are encouraged to bring their live data and queries for discussion and solutions. It is mandatory for all participants to carry their laptops fully charged (along with the charger)
About the Resource person:
Purnima Rao is an assistant
professor in the area of finance.
Her research areas include Cor-
porate Finance, SME Financ-
ing, Entrepreneurial Finance
and Capital Markets. She has
worked as a guest faculty at
IIIT –Kota. She has also
worked with SMR Automotive System India Limited. She
has published many research papers in the international
journals. All her publications are Scopus Indexed as well
as listed in ABDC. She has also been awarded with JRF
and SRF by University Grants Commission. Her teaching
interest includes Corporate Finance, Financial Economet-
rics, Security Analysis and Research Methodology.
