ABOUT ED & DEANDr Chavi Bhargava Sharma is a practicing psychologist and psychotherapist. She has done her PhD in Socio-political Psychology and has worked under the supervision of Prof Ashis Nandy and Prof Jitendar Mohan from Punjab University, Chandigarhin 1998.
She has done her Master's in Psychology with specialization in clinical psychology and B.A. (Hons.) in Psychology from University of Delhi.
She has been trained in Strategic Management and Defense Studies by the Regional Center for Strategic Studies (RCSS), Colombo in collaboration with Stymson Institute and Washington Institute of Peace and Conflict Studies.
She has been awarded the prestigious and competitive Scholar of Peace Fellowship (2004) by (WISCOMP) Women in Security Conflict Management and Peace of His Holiness the Dalai Lama Foundation for Universal Peace.

designed for comprehensive and in-
depth study of Economics as a
discipline at intermediate and

DEPARTMENT OF SOCIAL AND POLITICAL STUDIES The Department of Social and Political Studies deal with a trans and interdisciplinary approach & pedagogy within the realms of liberal arts, social and political studies, governance, public policy and administration by touching upon issues of Liberal Arts, Politics, Political Theory, Social Studies and Sociology, Public Policy, Public Administration, International Relations, Gender Studies, Environmental Studies, Gandhian Studies. Hence, the department attempts to empower students towards critical and solution oriented thinking by analyzing the complexities of the real world. In the process of doing that, the department prepares a student to pursue their career options in national and international think tank, civil services, corporate sectors, non-governmental organizations, print and electronic media, academic and policy research institutions. With a multicultural society and quasi-federal democracy, India over the years has been facing new challenges pertaining to the economic, social, environmental, ecological and governance domains of sustainability. The department attempts to cater to these challenges through specific actions, solutions by integrating the social and political studies with a major emphasis on the behavioral science focusing on the wide ranging realms of society and sociology. Hence the department aims to meet the demand in the real world for sustainability solutions by an analytical, critical and non- judgmental thinking through a pedagogical process which translates the theoretical ideas and experimental thinking to actions in the fields of social, political and developmental studies, law, management studies, media and popular culture, gender rights and studies, and several other domains.

academic disciplines under FBSS. It aims toward bridging the gap between
