Question One [50]

The field of Normative Ethics endeavours to arrive at moral standards thatregulate right and wrong conduct in society.

1.1. Define consequentialist (teleological) theories under the followingheadings:

The Religion and Education Policy (2003) speaks about 'unity not uniformity'and 'diversity not divisiveness'. Critically discuss what is meant by this as itaffects the approach to Religion Education as part of the LO curriculum. Youranswer should include a discussion of the rationale behind the policy as well aschallenges facing LO teachers as they facilitate Religion Education in the multi-religion classroom.
