Fairlawn Elementary School Dear Parents, It has been a rewarding and exciting year at Fairlawn. It is hard to believe the end of the 2017-2018 school year is coming to an end. Please know that your children have worked incredibly hard and the staff has been dedicated and committed to all students experiencing success. Fairlawn is an “A” School of Excellence because of the staff, students and families. Thank you for your continued support. PRINCIPAL’S CORNER May 2018 During the week of May 7 – 11, we will be celebrating the amazing staff of Fairlawn Elementary Magnet School. Please take a moment to say thank you, as we honor an A+ staff during this special week. Happy Staff Appreciation to an A+ staff! Summer information, supply lists, calendars and dress code will be sent home with your child at the end of the school year. The end of the year I-Ready diagnostic will take place during the month of May for all K-5 students. The diagnostic will show how much growth students have made this school year. Depending on the dates of your child’s diagnostic, he/she will not have access to lessons at home until their reading and math diagnostics have been completed. The diagnostics are scheduled two sessions for reading and two sessions for math to provide the students with the optimum testing environment. Students are encouraged to take as much time as they need so that the diagnostic is a reflection of the student’s true abilities and growth. The students are not expected to get every question correct. Please encourage your child to stay focused and do their best. It is a time to “Show what they know.” I-READY DIAGNOSTIC
