NOTICE TO BIDDERS BOROUGH OF CHESTER
Notice is hereby given that sealed bids will be received by the Borough of Chester, on Tuesday, July 28, 2020 at 10:00 am, prevailing time, at the Chester Borough Municipal Building, 50 North Road, Chester, New Jersey 07930 for the:
FAIRMOUNT AVENUE SANITARY SEWER IMPROVEMENTS
At that time, in the manner provided herein due to the Coronavirus Health Emergency, all bids will be opened and read aloud to the public by the Borough of Chester Clerk. The work to be performed includes the furnishing of all labor, materials and equipment necessary to complete the work as shown on the drawings and described in the specifications. The work to be performed under this contract includes the installation of a dry sanitary sewer line that will include approximately 750 linear feet of 6” PVC SDR 35 pipe; approximately 4,000 linear feet of 8” PVC SDR 35 pipe, seventeen (17) 48” diameter manholes, approximately 610 tons of HMA base course; residential and commercial laterals and other miscellaneous work. One (1) alternate bid will be received to install CLSM (flowable fill) in lieu of dense graded aggregate backfill. Contract Documents, Plans and Proposal Forms can be viewed on the Borough website at http://www.chesterborough.org. Plans and specifications may be obtained at the office of the Borough Engineer at 180 Main Street, Chester, New Jersey, (908) 879-6209, between the hours of 9:00 am and 5:00 pm, prevailing time, Monday through Friday, excluding legal holidays, upon payment of $50.00, payable to Ferriero Engineering, Inc., said sum not refundable, beginning on Tuesday, July 7, 2020. Each bid must be made on the prescribed forms furnished with the Contract Drawings and Specifications, including Non-collusion Affidavit, and must be accompanied by a Consent of Surety and a Certified Check, Cashier's Check or Bid Bond of not less than ten (10%) percent of the amount bid, and not to exceed $20,000.00. Bids must be received on or before the hour named and the date specified for the bid opening in this notice. No bid will be accepted after the designated time and date. The Borough will not assume responsibility for bids forwarded by mail if lost in transit at any time before the bid opening, and bids will be considered only if received by the Borough Clerk on or before such date and time indicated for the bid opening. Bids are not to be delivered to the offices of Ferriero Engineering, Inc. Bids will be opened at the Borough Municipal Building at the designated time. In-person attendance at the Bid Opening is prohibited due to restrictions on public gatherings under the current Coronavirus Health Emergency. The Bid Opening will be streamed live via the Zoom conferencing website. Interested parties may view the Bid Opening via Zoom conference. At the time of the meeting, interested parties should visit www.zoom.com and enter meeting ID 851-3823-9347 and Password 547193. You may also dial in at 312.626.6799 for audio using the same ID and Password. The zoom conference will open 30 minutes before the start of the meeting to enable attendees to join the meeting.
