On behalf of our residents, I am pleased to welcome visitors to our picturesque area of Northern Alberta. We are fortunate to experience the beauty of our surroundings every day. The scenery and the warm and welcoming people of the Fairview area, make our community a great place to visit. Scenic camping and picnic areas on the banks of the beautiful Peace River are favorite gathering spots for residents and visitors alike. Be sure to visit Pratt’s Landing and The Maples to take in the splendor of the Peace River and its valley. We are very proud of our agricultural heritage and the progressive nature of our people, past and present. We look forward to sharing the richness of our community with you. The M.D. of Fairview No. 136 is a wonderful place to visit and an even better place to live!

Another anniversary legacy project was the

construction of a picnic shelter at the

Maples Day Use area at Dunvegan,

completed in the summer of 2014.

Dedicated volunteers contractors and M.D.

staff worked very hard to create a very

aesthetic, useful shelter that fits beautifully

in the park. Summer of 2015 will see the

grand opening and ribbon cutting of this

wonderful facility. M.D. Staff and Council are

very proud of this new building and invites

everyone to join in the celebration of our

community’s heritage.
