Easter Joy Jesus came to earth, To show us how to live, How to put others first, How to love and how to give. Then He set about His work, That God sent Him to do; He took our punishment on Himself; He made us clean and new. He could have saved Himself, Calling angels from above, But He chose to pay our price for sin; He paid it out of love. Our Lord died on Good Friday, But the cross did not destroy His resurrection on Easter morn That fills our hearts with joy. Now we know our earthly death, Like His, is just a rest. We'll be forever with Him In heaven, where life is best. So we live our lives for Jesus, Think of Him in all we do. Thank you Savior; Thank you Lord. Help us love like you! students in Sierra Leone. They need:

Ballpoint pens (blue or black)

We are collecting books for Oldtown Elementary School again this year. A list of

needed books and the box to return your donations in is in the Parlor. As always, thank

Bible Study and Lunch Our last Bible Study until September will be on Wednesday, May 29. We look forward to having you back on September 4th at Noon. Invite your family, friends and neighbors to come with you and enjoy a wonderful meal, good fellowship and a lesson about our Savior Jesus

Fairview Clothes Closet

We continue to be busy in the Clothes Closet! Since January, 2019 we have been open for business the first Saturday of each month and have distributed 378 bags of clothes. Our guests that utilize the closet are very appreciative that Fairview is providing this service. Thank you, Fairview Church Members, friends and neighbors, for your support, prayers and very generous donations of clothes! Eugenia Ivy

Our Chancel Choir is a very hard work-ing group! They do an excellent job of leading us in worship each week. They spend many hours rehearsing to make sure that the music we sing in worship is truly a worthy offering to God. Because of their hard work through-out the year, we will only be rehearsing every other week (for the most part) during the summer

some new faces at our first summer rehearsal (or any time before that, for that matter). The Chancel Choir works hard togeth-er, but we have a lot of fun as well! Come and be a part of our Chancel Choir family. I can assure you that you will be glad you did!

months. We have done this for several years now and it has worked well. Hopefully you have not even noticed the difference on Sunday mornings!

Have you ever thought about singing in the choir, but just weren’t ready to make a commit-ment to rehearsals every week? If so, the summer months would be a great time for you to come and

give choir a try! You could also show your appreciation to the choir members that sing each week of the year by being here to assure that we have a good group in the choir, even when our “regulars” are enjoying their times of vacation. I will publish a summer re-hearsal schedule very soon. Please feel free to call me if you have any questions or need any further infor-mation. I would love to see

Notes from Lewis

You will notice that our group has a new/old name! Several years ago we changed the name to Fairview Friends Fellowship. We felt that this might be confusing to people, so we have changed back to Senior Friends Fellowship, which makes it pretty clear who the group includes. This group is open to anyone in the church aged 50 and above.

Thursday, May 23, 9:45AM

We will leave from the fellowship hall parking lot and travel to Mt. Airy where we will visit the Andy Griffith Museum. Admission to the museum is $8.00. For an additional fee of $2.00, you can enhance your experience with an easy-to-use audio guide. We will enjoy lunch somewhere in the area and possibly take in some of the other sights in Mt. Airy. Please call Jeanne Willard (336-768-5645) or see her at church to reserve your place on the bus no later than Sunday, May 19th.

Friday, June 14, 3:30PM

PLEASE notice the change of date and time for this month! We will travel to Walnut Cove and enjoy an early dinner at The Hillbilly Hideaway. The meal is served family style and includes White Fish, Fried Chicken, Country Ham, Mashed Potatoes, Green Beans, Pinto Beans, Cole Slaw, Apples, Chicken Gravy, Hoe Cakes and Cornbread. Price of the meal is $18.75 plus tax and includes your beverage. We are leaving early so that we can be back at the church before dark for those that have difficulty driving at night. This would be an excellent time to invite someone that hasn’t been involved in our group to go with you. Please call Jeanne Willard (336-768-5645) or see her at church to reserve your place on the bus no later than Sunday, June 9th. Do you have ideas for trips or programs for our Senior Friends Fellowship? If so, please share these with Nancy Morgan, Jeanne Willard or Lewis Phillips. We are always looking for new ideas and would love your input!

Youth Sunday

The Fairview Youth will be leading our worship service on May 19th.

The youth are excited to be actively participating in worship and they have been working very

hard to prepare.

We look forward to seeing you all on May 19th.
