CHARLES PERRAULT

Born in Paris, France in 1628

He became a high ranking civil servant and a member of the French Academy

In 1697 he published a book called “Histories or Tales of Past Times with

Morals”

This book told stories of 80 Fairy Tales

RABBI NAHMANBorn in 1772 in Medzhibozh in Ukraine

In 1806 his infant son Shlomo Ephraim died from an unknown

illness; this is when he turned to writing his stories

Wrote stories from summer of 1806-1810 when he died from

tuberculosis

Created 13 new fairy tales and a number of parables and folktales
