Virtue of the month:
Prayer of the month:
Dear SPX Family- First and foremost, I want to take a moment to thank ALL of the parent and family volunteers who have given their time this last month with the extra activities that have occurred on campus. You gave so much help, to help us make the PSIA event successful. I appreciate everyone’s help; from donating food items, serving food, monitoring, grading, cleaning up and giving your time to help us. It is not unnoticed or unappreciated. Thank you!! On Monday, March 26, we will enter the 4th quarter of this school year. Next week, will be a short week due to the Easter break and the use of a bad weather day on Easter Monday. When we return from Easter, our all school Mass and Awards assembly will be on Friday, April 6. I hope many can attend and help cele-brate our student’s successes. Additionally, as we do move into the 4th quarter and we begin to focus on the end of the year, I am encouraging all to reach out to your child’s teacher if you have any question about your child’s progress. Lastly, know that I am always here for you. If you need anything, my door is always open. I ask that you come by, call or if you want to make an appointment, please do not hesitate to do so. I want to hear from you and visit with you all. Together, we can continue to make SPX a great place for our students. It is my ultimate goal and vision that Saint Pius X Catholic School continues to strive each day to give our students the very best Catholic education. I am committed to working with all of you and our community to provide the way for our students to reach the way of college and Heaven. Have a wonderful weekend. Putting HIS Children First, Tana Scott, Principal

April is Child Abuse Awareness Month!
Child Abuse Prevention Month April is national Child Abuse Prevention Month. It is most appropriate that Child Abuse Prevention Month is held during the Easter season. There is no better time than Easter to celebrate the protection of our most valuable gift from God—our children. For information on how you can become more informed and involved in keeping our children safe, please contact Ginger Farrell – [email protected].

In July of 2018, two of our staff members will be traveling on a mission trip to Uganda. Mrs. Lalanne and Ms. Wahlstrom will travel with a team from Church of the Epiphany in Richardson to work in Uganda with an orphanage and a Batwa pygmy group. Mrs. La-lanne has led the trip 5 times over the last ten years. Ms. Wahlstrom will be traveling to Africa for the first time! Because our virtue in the month of February highlights ‘Love’…we are asking for prayers, support, and love for this trip!
Here are some ways to help: Pray for us daily as we travel! We will be traveling from July 3 – 18th. Follow our travels through the SPX Facebook page. Ms. Wahlstrom will be posting
updates and pictures of our trip. A follow up newsletter article will happen when we return in August! Rosary Club members will be making rosaries for us to take along and distribute! 8th graders and their prayer partners will do some service in the form of ‘pre-work’
for a craft and bible story that we present while there. We will have ‘change for a change’ jars posted in the office and in different class-
rooms. If students want to donate change, they are welcome to do so in the month
