From our PastorHow should churches view their
success? Many view it by their
attendanceif more people are
coming, then they are successful.
And thats partially correct. But, the truth
is, our success is not determined as much by our
seating capacity as it is our sending capacity. Gods
invitation to the lost world is to come; but Hiscommand to His disciples is to go. As a church,
we are not only to open our doors and bring them
inwe are to open our doors and send them out.
So, my question is, how are we doing? Our
attendance is up almost 30% over last year. We
have lots of rst time guests every Sunday. But,
how are we doing when it comes to going? Jesus
told the Gerasene demoniac who was set free to Go
home to your friends and tell them how much the
Lord has done for you.(Mark 5:19). In the parable
of the Great Banquet, Jesus said, Go out to the
highways and hedges and compel people to come
in, that my house may be lled. (Luke 14:23). In
the Great Commission, Jesus told us to Go andmake disciples of all nations. (Matthew 28:19).
Jesus told us to go to our friends and neighbors; go
to those we pass as we walk through life; and go to
people all around the world.
So, how are we doing? When was the last time
you shared the Good News with your friends,
neighbors, and co-workers? What about the cashier
at Wal-Mart, the bag boy at Publix, the gas station
attendant, or the waiter at the restaurant. When was
the last time you went on a mission trip to share
with those who may have never heard about the
Jesus we worship?
There is a passage I learned as a child that at
times challenges me and at other times haunts me.
Ezekiel 3:18 says, Suppose I tell you that wicked
people will surely die, but you dont warn them
or speak out so that they can change their wicked
ways in order to save their lives. Then these wicked
people will die because of their sin, but I will hold
you responsible for their deaths.
We have been given a responsibility, by God
Himself, to share the Good News of the hope of
forgiveness with a lost world. If we fail in that, then
nothing else we do will really matter. My prayer
is that we will become known as a soul winning,
sending churcha place where people come to
know Christ and then are sent out to share Christ.
And I praythat I will model sharing Christ thisyear.
Will you join me in Gods divine plan for our
church? Lets make 2012 the year of sharing
every dayevery week.
Whatever it takes,
Pastor Rocky

I can remember like it was yesterdaystanding before the church sharing thevision that God placed on our heart of
Northside Christian Academy. I distinctlyremember sharing the budget that wasbased on 115 students being enrolled andwas asked how confdent I was that this
would happen. Based on all my researchthis was an unrealistic number. In fact, every school I interviewed suggested thatwas not possible! But, with conviction, Istated that this would happen. (I mustadmit that after that meeting, I did go inmy prayer closet and pleaded with Godto make it happen.) But, I knew in thedepths of my heart that it was Gods willand He and only He could make it happen. He exceeded our expectations and hasblessed us with 208 children! We openedthe school to the public at our recent
open house and had over 200 people visitthe school. We are literally registeringchildren on a daily basis!
I want to personally thank each of youfor trusting God and supporting theacademy with your prayers and He is stillanswering our prayers.
We prayed to God that He would providea frst class athletic program beginning
the 2012-13 school year. Yet, God choseto begin it this year. We just completedour winter sports with Cheerleading and
both Girls and Boys Basketball team. This spring we will provide soccer, tennisand golf. We have already recruited ourfootball coaches and will begin our footballprogram this fall.
For Christmas, the families of theAcademy students adopted a missionaryfamily who left Lexington County to servein the Middle East, showering them withan incredible abundance of gifts andnecessities.
The Academy boasts a world-class musicprogram, an incredible art program, and each student completes 8 hours ofcommunity service.
The Academy will add 9th and possibly10th grade in the 2012-2013 school year,
and we are excited about an upcomingannouncement about the addition of anew Upper School Principal.
The school was also voted Best PrivateSchool by readers of Lexington LifeMagazine.
We will be holding our frst Jump Rope
For Heart event on March 30th. We willbe sponsoring our own Julianne Peterson.
We are teaching our children the value ofgiving!
We have had eighteen families from academy join or are active visitors of church. We also have 8 people baptizedawaiting baptism through the academy
Last month we had a NCA workday, whwe built shelving, built two walk bridover the creek, cleaned, repainted, etc.
We see miracles happen every day. has far exceeded every expectation ever had. We are honored to be partsuch a powerful ministry.
Our parents are also thrilled wthe schools progress. One parcommented, I cant say enough gothings about NCA. The administratistaff, students...they are all wonderfIt is so wonderful to be a part of a sch
that pours the Word of God into yokids each and every day, and loves and encourages them all of the timMy girls never want to leave. Thlong to go to school and be at eveextracurricular activity that there ishas been a wonderful experience...othat we want to continue.
