Welcome in the name of Jesus! We’re are so glad you are here today, whether you are a visitor or a long-time member, and anywhere in between! We believe one of the best things we can do is gather together to worship our Lord and Savior, to hear from His Word, be strengthened through His Sacrament, and encourage one
another through fellowship. So welcome again, and if you have any questions or concerns please speak to one of our ushers or to Pastor Mark.
New. We like the word “new.” New car. New phone. New house. New TV. The word “new” is a word loaded with possibilities and potential, anticipation and excitement. We like new. And so we approach another new year, and all those things exist about an
arbitrary change of the calendar. But we also like old. The good old days. That was a good ol’ car. Like a fine wine, or aged cheese, which are simply more elegant ways to say “old.” Old make us thing of nostalgia, wistfulness, appreciation, thankfulness. So, with this new year, we bring forward the things we like from the old one, but with an eager expectation of the new. God bless your celebration of the New Year!
Saturday, January 18, Franklin Graham will be at Sunset Cove Amphitheater in Boca Raton as part of the Decision America Sunshine State tour. This evangelistic event will feature music by Jeremy Camp and Dennis Agajanian, and will include an evangelistic message and prayer for our nation. It will start at 4:00 PM. More info to come.
Holy Communion
In this Sacrament, Jesus gives us Himself, His true Body and Blood as we receive the bread and wine. Je-sus instituted this when he celebrated Passover with his disciples, and assures us that each time we re-ceive it, we again remember his death and receive the full benefits of His grace and all that he offers. In keeping with the Scripture and the teachings of the Lutheran church, we ask each person to consider these questions:
*Do I acknowledge the fact that I am indeed a sinner and that I am sorry for my sins?
*Do I believe that Jesus Christ is my Savior from all sin?
*Am I trusting in Jesus’ promise that I receive full forgiveness and strength through this Sacrament?
*Do I believe and agree that the body and blood of my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, are truly present in, with and under the bread and wine?
*With the Lord’s help, will I seek to amend my sinful life and live in conformity with His holy will?
If you answer yes to all these questions and are baptized, you are welcome to come and receive all that Jesus offers in Holy Communion. May the Lord bless your personal reception as well as your daily living under His power and blessing.
CONTINUOUS DISTRIBUTION OF HOLY COMMUNION At our ushers’ directions, please come forward in one or two lines in the main aisle. Unconfirmed chil-dren/adults may come forward to Pastor to receive a blessing. You may receive the wafer either in your mouth or in your hands. Gluten-Free wafers are available; indicate so when you come to the front. If you are unable to drink wine because of negative physical effects, there are individual containers with white grape juice in the trays. You may receive the wine either by intinction (dipping the wafer half-way to the wine and then plac-ing it into your mouth) or by drinking from the chalice or by drinking from the individual containers dis-tributed from the trays. If you drink from the chalice, please take the base of the chalice and tip it so you can regulate the amount of wine you receive. If you drink from the individual containers, after you drink the wine/grape juice, please place the empty container in the basket hanging from the front rails. Once finished receiving the bread and the wine, return to your seat, pausing if you like at the altar ta-ble rail.
We offer assistance for the hearing impaired. Just speak to one of our ushers, who will be able to help you. Please return the hearing device to an usher as you exit.
We have a Nursery for infants through age 3 that is staffed during most of our services. The nursery is through the hall on the right side of the sanctuary (facing the altar). You will find loving care for your little one!
We also offer Faithkidz!, our children’s ministry for age three through twelve, offered at both services. Children exit the sanctuary through the same hallway just before the Scripture lessons, and go into the chapel for a time of age-appropriate learning and activities. They return to the service before Holy Com-munion.

Is Your 2019 Commitment up to Date?
Year-end Gifts: Are you “up-to-date” on your 2019 commitment to Christ and His church? Some may be considering stock or cash gifting. Now is the time to look at your options for these year-end gifts. Please consider Faith as you do so. Your gift to the Church is, of course, fully tax-deductible.
Donations must be received in the church office by December 31, 2019 in order to qualify for a 2019 tax de-
duction. IRS rules require that donations received in the church office after December 31 (in person or by
mail) must be reported as 2020 income, regardless of when the check is dated or mailed. Thank you. Year-
End Gifts may also be given to our Capital Campaign. (Envelopes in the narthex and the
