Site Analysis:

The site of the building is located among many other buildings in the downtown Westminster, which includes a lot of nodes surround by. Thetrac pattern is a very important part of thosethings that I should consider during the design. In the analysis, I analysised the dierence of thetrac directions, and think how those trac isgoing to inuence the site and how the relationbetween site and surroudings.

Floor Planning Concept:

There include three oors of the buidling, which in the top oorthere are the main conference room and two small conferenceroom, and those conference room have balcony to allow peopleto have some relax during the meeting. The second oor is opento the public and there is the program space and the relax room.

The rst oor is the lobby and in the back there is oce space. The Idea of the oor planning is main to create a concise and anopen space for people inside the building, so this is a one of thereason why I made a very large open space work station insteadof the individul oces. Also the program place is also be created

in a wide space so that people can talk to each other better. The belcony inside the building also showing the same function, letpeople have a great feeling while they are inside buidling, more, the tall space can make these space relating together.

The general tone of the town that the site in isquite quiet because this is a very small town, and the population is very low, in order to letthe deisgn t the site, and also t that the city’stexture form the cultural aspect, the design isdoing in a humanity way from the natural wayand friendly to the surrounding environment.Basically, the design is aiming to make a place for people to gathering and communicate.

The anxonmetric showing straight forward how each of the oor relating to each otherand how the spaces inside the building canwork together. The diagrams shows peoplehow to nd the place they interesed whilethe visiting

Interior Space:

The inside space of the building is mainly using the consice colorsto balance the structure. Using tall columns next to the windows to support the tall glass, the columns is also a way of decoration. In the second oor, the balustrade is also using glass, to balancethe entire frame, also can create a bright space.

Like the design concept mentioned, the general inside space aimto create a peaceful space using the feeling of dawning, however, not all the space should be like that, so this is the reason that the tall windows are designed, to bring people have a feeling of thatshows the brightness, and make people feel much better.

Design Concept:

As located in downtown Westminster, South Carolina, unlike thebig city, which the surrounding area is a pretty quiet. People in the town are knowing each other very well, and are very friendlyto each other. This design is for create a gathering area for those local people or a guest centre for the visitors, which mainly used for educating people how to prevent domestic violence.

The main idea is using the side windows to create an enviornmntof a feeling of dawning, to create a peaceful feeling inside of thehouse. The side windows are opened in dierent directions thatthe light can come from dierent direction in the day time.

The rst oor plan is consisting the cafe, lobby, kitchen and the nurse station, thatintend to design a public area. I make the cafe in a wide space, mainly to create therelax space for the people, make them toenjoy while they eating there.

The second oor plan is consisting somerelaxing area, oce and the consulation room. mainly to become functional area. There is a small meeting area among the oce, to make convience for the people.

The third oor is consisting the conferenceroom and some gathering area, is mainly tobe a meeting place in the building. The realspace in the third oor is only have half of the rst oor, mainly create a wide balconyarea,to make the space large and bright.

Sections

The section of the building is showing the relatively spaceinside the building, In this design, I mainly intend to createa tall, wide space to make the entire building very bright. In this three sections, I chosed from the left to the right, toshow how the space related to each other. In the design, Imake some really large windows, to create a space which isreally bright and wide.

Interior Rendering

The interior redering shows the inside spaceof the building. There are four rendering, andthey are from dierent place inside the build-ing. The space of my design is intend to be ina very bright condition, so in my rendings, itshows this concept, which each renderings isnear the window area.

Facades, Front & Back

The concept of the facade design is mainly to be in a concise and massive style. So, I create a wide windows in the front in the rst oor area, and created some wide windows in the back but not in a uniform way. In order to bal-ance outside facade, there is no windows in the side of the building. So, overall, the facade of the buildings is in a consice way, and do not have over decoration. The material of the facade is combining with concrete and wood, in order to make structure of the building to be strong.
