To successfully reach and engage customers in their native language, organizations must dedicate time and resources to implementing international marketing and search engine optimization (SEO) strategies. Any translation agency can translate a website; just make sure your agency understands the latest trends in international SEO.
Having your website translated accurately and clearly, taking into consideration local dialects, cultural nuances and unique regional user experiences, is critical to SEO success. This is especially important because Google’s algorithms have improved in
recent years and can now detect highly-valued translated content. Naturally, highly-valued content ranks higher, thus increasing SEO rank.
How a company presents itself on the internet is critical in whether customers decide to do business with them. Websites that do not embrace local differences, cultural nuances and other quirks fail to generate as much internet traffic and end up not ranking as high in terms of SEO. Make sure your organization is prepared to adapt
to changes in the online world. That way, your international reputation will be secure, now and in the future. Source: MultiLingual Computing

Electric Bus Debuts with Flash Charging TechnologyOne of ICD Translation’s clients, ABB, received a commercial order from Geneva, Switzerland’s transit bus operator and Swiss bus manufacturer HESS to provide flash charging and onboard electric vehicle technology for 12 electric buses. ABB will deploy 13 flash charging stations along the route connecting Geneva’s airport with suburban Geneva. These stations will feature the world’s fastest flash charging connection technology,
taking less than one second to connect the bus to the charging point, and only 15 seconds to charge the onboard batteries.
When fully commissioned in 2018, the e-buses will depart in 10-minute intervals during peak times, carrying more than 10,000 passengers a day. The replacement of diesel buses by e-buses reduces noise as well as greenhouse gas emissions, saving as much as 1,000 tons of carbon dioxide per year. Source: ABB

IndiaThe Indus Valley civilization, one of the world’s oldest, flourished during the 3rd and 2nd millennia B.C. The Golden Age ushered in by the Gupta dynasty (4th to 6th centuries A.D.) saw a flowering of Indian science, art and culture. Islam spread across the subcontinent over a period of 700 years. In the early 16th century, the Emperor Babur established the Mughal Dynasty, which ruled India for more than three centuries.
By the 19th century, Great Britain had become the dominant political power. Years of nonviolent resistance to British rule, led by Gandhi, eventually resulted in Indian independence in 1947. Violence led to the subcontinent partition into two separate states – India and Pakistan. The neighboring nations have fought three wars since independence, the last of which was in 1971, and resulted in East Pakistan becoming the separate nation of Bangladesh.
Despite pressing problems such as significant overpopulation, environmental degradation, extensive poverty and widespread corruption, economic growth following the launch of economic reforms in 1991 and a massive youthful population are driving India’s emergence as a regional and global power.
Omar | Palestine, 2013 | Language: Arabic Directed by Hany Abu-Assad
Nominated for the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film, “Omar” is about a young Palestinian who must scale the tall security wall that separates him from his girlfriend, Nadia, on a daily basis.
Though very much in love, they haven’t revealed their relationship to her brother (and Omar’s good friend) Tarek.
Tarek, along with Omar and another close friend, Amjad, are planning to kill an Israeli soldier. The three friends’ mission is a success, but soon after, Omar is caught by Israeli forces, led by Agent Rami.
Threatening Omar with imprisonment, Rami promises him freedom if he’ll deliver Tarek to them. Omar’s ending is both mystifying and perfect. Source: Adoptfilms

WORDORIGIN: ApostropheFrom Middle French: apostrophe
From late Latin: apostrophus
From Greek: apostrophos (the accent of turning away), thus a mark showing where a letter has been omitted
From apostrephein: (avert, turn away).
In English, the mark often represents loss of –e in –es, possessive ending. It was extended to all possessives, whether or not they had an –e, by the 18th century. Source: Online Etymology Dictionary
