IPAA/PESA 'Power Your Future' Middle School STEM Career Exploration ProgramAugust saw the launch of the new IPAA/PESA Middle School STEM Career Exploration initiative in the Permian Basin in Texas and New Mexico. This innovative, interactive digital and classroom discussion initiative helps young teenagers understand their individual talents and then explores 35 different STEM careers...what students can do now and what subjects they need to study in the future, different types of work and salaries. The goal is to exceed the initial target of 17 to 20 Permian middle schools in the first year with wider expansion and sponsorship of the program. This program is made possible through the generous support of the founding sponsor Occidental Petroleum with additional support from AAPL, Halliburton, IPAA, Marathon Oil and PESA.
