Fall Quarter Adult Bible Classes Sunday Adult Class (Auditorium): Genesis, rotating teachers Wednesday Adult Class (Fellowship Hall): Philippians, taught by Ethan Brown
Connection Groups TODAY! See the display in the lobby. Choose a group and come enjoy the fellowship and Bible Study. Groups are: Audias (Mills River), Carpenter (Auditorium), Godley (Lunch out; meet in Annex at 1:15), McGee (South Henderson/Saluda), McKelvey (West Henderson), Williams (West Henderson).
On 4/21, the congregation completed the phrase “Because Jesus lives”. These responses are being published in the bulletin a few at a time.
Because Jesus Lives: “I have the promise of Eternal Life. Oh, to hug Jesus and thank him for His Great Sacrifice and to be with my sisters.” “I know my sins are washed away.”
During the Sundays this month, add your reasons for be-ing thankful on our “Why We’re Thankful” posters. They are on a table in the lobby.
We could use an additional 2 volunteers to rotate keeping the Nursery on Sunday mornings during the Service. Please add your name to the signup sheet in the Foyer.
The Communion Prep volunteer list for 2020 is on the bulletin board. Please sign up to help for a month.
Celebrate the joy of the holiday season! On November 24, our ‘fourth Sunday’
5:30pm evening service at the building will include supplies, instructions, & time together to assemble a simple way to focus on what truly matters each day in Dec.
Sunday, Dec. 8th 1:30PM, in the Annex Baby Shower for the
Leatherwoods There will be a money tree to be used toward the purchase of larger
items
The response has been overwhelming! Many men and women have applied to be trained and serve as a Stephen Minister. I am so excited at this opportunity! In addition, our elders, Ethan, and some of their wives will also attend the training. Even if you were unable at this time to apply as a Stephen Minister, participation in prayer is still needed by all. Pray for guidance in this ministry as we proceed through the selection process, the extensive training, and connecting Stephen Ministers with Care Receivers. God continues to move us towards a more care giving congregation. Thanks for all of your support.
Anyone interested in going to Winterfest in February, please meet in the front of the auditorium immediately after services this Sunday.

November 17th
There are 2.7 million children in the US that may be filled with the abandonment, loneliness and shame that come from having a mom or dad in prison. Angel Tree, which is a pro-gram of Prison Fellowship reaches out to the children of pris-oners and their families each year at Christmas and continu-ing through the year. We have received our Angel Tree ‘Angels’ for this year. Once again we have 12 children that come from four different families. We would like to provide 2 gifts for each child that will be sent on behalf of their incarcerated parent. One gift will be a clothing gift and the other a ‘fun’ gift. The cost of each should be approximately $20. We also plan to give a gift to each of the caretakers and an age appropriate Bible to each child. A display is set up in the Foyer where you can choose a name or names, or donate money toward the purchase of the Bibles, which have already been ordered. We also need to work as a ’team’ so that someone is re-sponsible for making sure the gifts are delivered, a Christmas card is sent to the incarcerated parent, and to follow-up with the families during the year. Please stop by the table and pick up names. Put your name on the signup sheet that goes with that family so we will know who is purchasing what. And volunteer to deliver gifts. Also, be in prayer for each of these families. Gifts need to be wrapped, labeled with the angel tree tag that you pick up, and turned in by Sunday, December 8th. Direction sheets are also on the table in the Foyer. Remember, what starts with a simple gift, can be an open door to a new friend! Direct any questions to Karen McGee

Good News from Baxter! Each weekend, students work with a local congre-gation. Yordano is a second-year student from Cuba who works with the congregation in Talanga. He baptized two young people just a few weeks ago. He comments, "The result of evangelism and the work of God, above all, has flourished in these hearts. I only ask that you pray for these young people so that God may lead them to persevere on the path that leads to the salvation of man."
