Ages 6-18 months. Parent must participate in the water with the infant. This class teaches underwater acclimation while parents learn how to give their child a positive experience in the water.

Ages 18-36 months. Parent must participate in the water with the toddler. Students continue developing water acclimation and safety skills. Children will have fun in the water while developing swimming readiness.

PRESCHool Preschool 1 11:15-11:50 a.m. $10/20 UV

3 to 5 year olds who are new to the water will develop comfort in the water, learn water entry, bubble blowing, floating, kicking, underwater exploration and general water safety skills.

Preschool 2 noon-12:35 p.m. $10/20 UV

Prerequisite: Able to demonstrate completion requirements of Preschool L1. 3 to 5 year olds who are very comfortable in the water will learn new skills such as combined arm and leg action on front, treading with support and general water safety skills.

ADvENTURE SPoRTSHorseback Forest Trail RidingBeginner and experienced riders will enjoy Blue Ridge, GA by horseback. We’ll spend 1 1/2 hours in the saddle on the trail and tour the mountain area afterwards. Includes transportation, leadership, gratuity, horse and guide.

Wild Cave ExplorationJoin us as we hike, crawl, climb and squeeze our way through a remote, desolate and virtually uncharted wild cave. Our final trip is for more advanced or experienced cavers, please. Includes caving gear, transportation, guide, and fees.

Equinox: The beach and Autumnal yogaHead to Amelia Island with Tonya from Yoga on the Move. Enjoy a morning Sun Salutation and meditate in the company of the beautiful sunrise. Later, learn something new by riding the ocean waves at the surf and paddleboard clinic or participate in the art of doing nothing. In the evening be treated to a bonfire in celebration of the abundance of this wondrous planet. Includes transportation, two nights lodging, multiple yoga sessions w/mat, entrance fees and leadership. (Surfboard rental/lesson $40 additional.)

Rock Climbing 101We’ll take you out to a popular rock climbing destination and get you up on some awesome climbs for you to test your outdoor climbing ability and learn new skills. No experience necessary. Includes transportation, climbing equipment and shoes, instruction and leadership.

Fly FishingWe will travel to North Georgia for hands on instruction in fly casting, fishing strategies, knot tying, and an introduction to insects, tools and techniques. bicycling berry CollegeRide the mountain bike trails or bike the roads on this guided exploration of Berry’s scenic and vast campus network of trails and roads. Learn about the facets of what makes this largest campus in the world historical and unique. Mountain bike or hybrid required. Some trails are not suitable for hybrid bike—self-guided hiking will also be offered. Includes transportation for participant and bike, and leadership.

All backpacking trips include transportation, guides, shared group equipment and any park fees.

Springer Mountain and the ATGet a taste of the AT on this preview backpacking trip. This taste will be nearly a meal as the early stretches of the AT are quite strenuous. See the approach trail from Amicalola Falls, learn lightweight backpacking techniques and alcohol stove building and attempt Blood Mountain.

Rating: moderate, up to 20 miles

Two-Days 2 Day-Hikes CampoutDo two amazing day hikes and camp in a state campground in north Georgia. Destinations include Blood Mountain, Brasstown Bald, Amicalola State Park, Vogel State Park and Springer Mountain, on the Appalachian Trail. Other stops like Desoto Falls will be as time allows! Includes personal camping equipment.

Rating: moderate, 7+ miles each day

great Smoky Mountains Fall Color TourEnjoy a three day fall color tour of Great Smoky Mountain National Park by vehicle and foot. We’ll see the park from many angles and then dive into the wilderness away from the sightseers to backpack under the gleaming canopy. Bring your camera because the views will be spectacular. Participants should be in good physical condition and previous camping experience is a plus.

Rating: strenuous, 17+ miles

Sumter & Ellicott RockHike 8-10 miles along the National Wild and Scenic Chattooga River and camp along the river bank in the Sumter National Forest. This relaxing backpacking trip enjoys up to 3 states, trout fisherman and Ellicott Rock. Includes transportation, leadership and personal camping equipment.

Rating: moderate to easy, 5+ miles

big Frog and the benton MackayeBig Frog is not small. Backpacking a climb of over 2,000 feet in 5 miles you’ll have an amazing panoramic camping experience atop the mountain in the Cohutta Wilderness. This area of the forest is one of the most preserved in the southeast, offering a dense, rich wilderness hiking experience and pure cascading waters.

Rating: moderate to strenuous, 11 miles

Panther Creek FallsHike a 7 mile round-trip along Panther Creek and lunch at the falls of Panther and Davidson’s Creek. If the temperature is right, you’ll enjoy a cool off swim at the falls.

Rating: moderate, 7 miles

little River Falls AlabamaHike the canyons with a swimsuit on and jump right in below Little River Falls. Dry off for a picnic lunch and swim for the rest of the afternoon.

Rating: easy, less than 3 miles

Atlanta’s Hidden ForestsIn a series of six Friday half-days throughout the semester, our guides will share with you some of their favorite hikes near the city. Based on the new book Hiking Atlanta’s Hidden Forests by Jonah McDonald, we’ll select the coolest hikes you must see and point out a few neat items of nature!

Rating: easy to moderate, less than 6 miles

bear Creek valley TrailHike the naturally breathtaking Bear Creek Valley, near Elijay, GA and admire the native flora and fauna, just in time to see the autumn leaves. This trail winds around Bear Creek and Little Bear Creek, then proceeds up a neighboring summit for a view of the valley below. We’ll also pass by the majestic Gennett Poplar, the second largest living tree in Georgia!

Rating: moderate, 5.7 miles

High Falls HikingThis small park has lots to enjoy and see with the 135 foot cascading falls, loop trails and remnants of an old town that once prospered. If time allows we’ll visit other sights in the area.

okefenokee SwampFun to say and fun to paddle, the Okefenokee Swamp and slow moving Suwannee River is a beautiful canoe-camping destination for late fall in southern Georgia. You’ll enjoy amazing serenity and abundant wildlife on this 10-14 mile per day paddle trip. Canoe skills and primitive camp experience preferred. Includes paddling gear, group equipment, guide, fees, and transportation.

WHITEWATERWhitewater kayaking SchoolThe course begins with four sessions in still water and finishes with a progressive two-day optional river trip. Please plan to attend all sessions and the river trip to be a graduate of the course. Students, faculty and staff get first priority. No prior experience is necessary. The maximum weight is 250 pounds. Pool work will be held at the Student Recreation Center pool, 6:30-9:30 p.m. on Mondays/Wednesdays, September 15, 17, 22, & 24. The river portion will be Saturday/Sunday, September 27-28. Includes paddling gear, transportation during river sessions, camping and river lunches.

Nantahala Raft TripsThis 8.5 mile run in a beautiful gorge of North Carolina is enjoyable for beginners as well as veteran rafters. The gorge in the fall time is gorgeous. Includes transportation, leadership, river guides, equipment and lunch.

ocoee RaftingThis exciting Class IV whitewater river in Tennessee is the most action packed in the Southeast! Expect to get wet and experience a wild ride as you work as a team. This is a river of constant whitewater intensity, waves and solid fun. Do the standard middle trip (5 miles) or join us for an epic full-day combo trip (upper & middle—10 miles). Includes transportation, leadership, river guides, equipment and lunch.

Rabun bald FiretowerHike to the second highest peak in Georgia, but arguably the most breathtaking. Topping out at 4,700 ft. you’ll find a panoramic view of north Georgia and maybe a few other states on a clear fall day. It remains one of the premier botanical areas in GA and fall views are exceptional.

Rating: easy to moderate, 6-7 miles

FlATWATERRiver Cleanup Service ProjectTeam up with Touch the Earth and Sustainable Energy Tribe on this service project. Clearing rivers of unnatural debris and trash, explore the local area trails and learn about how to keep our environment clean. Includes transportation, group equipment, fees, a lunch and leadership.

St. Joseph Multi-SportExtend yourself far out on the peninsula of St. Joseph State Park in Florida. This park offers hiking/biking trails, surf conditions on the Gulf, snorkeling/kayaking in the bay and beautiful campsites. There are even world class oysters for eating just down the road. This makes for a great weekend to sample many adventures! Includes transportation, sports gear, personal and group camping equipment, leadership and fees.

Cumberland Island Sea kayak Tour Explore the pristine and unspoiled wilderness of Georgia’s Cumberland Island. Spend three days kayaking the brackish marshes and rivers, hiking along the wide sandy beaches and inland forests. See beautiful live oaks draped in Spanish moss, antebellum mansions and abundant wildlife, including the island’s famous wild horses. Includes paddling gear, group equipment, guide, fees, and transportation.

$1895/$1995/$2095Join us on our adventurous and relaxing trip to Peru in South America this November. Peru is home to ten UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Live out of your backpack and travel between cities on public transportation discovering the Andean culture high in the mountains and the bustling economy along the Pacific coast. Trace the Inca Trail on a four-day trek on foot to the top of Machu Picchu, one of the top 5 treks in the world. Tour Colca Canyon – twice as deep as the Grand Canyon. We’ll explore the Amazon Rainforest, Manu Biospshere Reserve on our way to a relaxing surfer’s town. Airfare and hostel lodging is included, as well as transportation and group tours. This trip and all activities are planned in cooperation with the input of the participants upon registration. Passport or Visa is required. For your enjoyment and others, a good physical health condition is required. A $500 non-refundable deposit is due by October 10 to reserve your space; Balance is due November 7. The experience will increase trust and enhance group cohesion. Programs are tailored to meet the needs of the group.

The new 4,700 square foot lodge is the perfect place for off campus events. The lodge has a large meeting room, two breakout rooms, an open lobby reception area with fireplace, decks with seating and a catering kitchen. If you would like to host your event outside, we also have available for reservation a half acre event lawn.
