1. Technical conditions1. Basic Division1.1 Sill and under-ceiling Fan-coil HFC units

2. Unit type sizes and their design2.1 The sill and under-ceiling units of the Fan-coil series (hereinafter referred to as the “units”) are

manufactured in the following sizes: HFC3 – HFC9.2.2 The output characteristics of the units are stated in Appendix “Heating and cooling outputs” Rated flow air 232 – 1 288 m3/hr Heating output 3.78 – 18.55 kW Cooling output 1.58 – 8.28 kW.2.3 The dimensions of individual units and their accessories are stated in Appendix “Units Dimensions”.2.4 The unit size is derived from the required parameters of the unit (rated air flow, cooling and heating

output).

3. Unit application3.1 The HFC units are designated for heating, cooling, ventilation and air filtration; the purpose is to

achieve optimum microclimate of the indoor environment.3.2 The units may operate as mixing ones (with fresh air supply) or as circulating ones (without fresh air

supply).3.3 Heating water, electricity or steam may be used as heating media.3.4 Cooling water or coolant may be used as cooling media.

4. Unit description4.1 The unit consists of a fan driven by electric motor, heat exchanger, filter and the zinc-coated frame

with thermal insulation. The unit may also be equipped with an electric board, jacket for installation into the interior and other accessories.

Heat exchangers (heaters, coolers) in the unit may be combined according to a code. The unit jacket may consist of a front or front + back jacket. The unit suction may be equipped with different types of grilles and dampers. The units are designated for installation on the wall, under the ceiling or on the floor into the space.

5. Labelling5.1 Each unit is fitted with a label stating the following data: – manufacturer; – unit size; – 12-digit configuration code; – serial number; – rated voltage and current; – noise data; – data related to the medium and exchanger pressure.

6. Safety6.1 Upon working on the project, the designer of the air-conditioning system shall elaborate draft

operational rules with respect to the expected safety of the air-conditioning system. The draft rules shall include, for example, the following:

– qualification and professional skills of personnel responsible for operation, service and repair of the electrical equipment;

– the obligation of the assembling firm or the air-conditioning system operator to carry out the initial inspection of the electrical equipment in accordance with the CSN EN 33 1500 standard “Electrical equipment inspection”;

– the obligation of the air-conditioning system operator to carry out regular inspections of the electrical equipment in the terms according to the CSN EN 33 1500 standard “Electrical equipment inspection”, depending on the environment;

– the manner of the safety assurance (i.e. safe disconnecting from the voltage supply) when carrying out the service and/or repairs.

6.2 The wiring shall be executed by a specialized firm in such a way so that it conform to the CSN EN 34 3205 standard “Operation of the rotary electrical machines and work with them” and related standards, protection against dangerous contact voltage CSN EN 33 2000-4-41 “Electrical regulations. Electrical equipment, Part 4: Safety. Chapter 41: Protection against electrical injury”.

6.3 Upon draining off the exchanger, the water temperature must be below 60 °C.6.4 The connecting pipeline of the heater must be insulated so that its surface temperature is below 60 °C.

7. Final inspection and tests7.1 Each manufactured unit is subject to a final inspection that checks whether the product corresponds

with the documentation.7.2 The conditions after the tests and inspection are recorded in the test protocol. The customer shall be

given “The product quality and completeness certificate”.

8. Sending orders8.1 The unit shall be ordered on the basis of a configuration code.

9. Handling, storing and packing9.1 When loading and unloading by means of a fork-lift truck the transported parts must be hoisted by

the transport pallet. Careful handling is required. 9.2 During the transport, the units must be sufficiently secured against any movement and overturning.9.3 The units may be stored only in warehouses of IB type according to the CSN EN 03 8207 standard.9.4 The units without jacket are packed into contracting foil; the units with jacket are packed into

protective cardboard covering. 9.5 It is recommended to remove the protective covering immediately before the assembly.

10. Guarantee10.1 Within the terms of the guarantee, the manufacturer shall be liable for any defects of the material

and components used. The manufacturer shall guarantee the function and properties of the product within the range of the given technical conditions, or any additional conditions – if explicitly specified in a contract.

10.2 The standard guarantee period is 12 months after putting into operation, however it may not exceed 18 months after the product leaves the manufacturer.

The code of a unit consists of 12 digits separated by hyphens into three groups of four digits in each.

Size (1st – 4th digit)

HCF3 – the smallest sizeHCF9 – the greatest size

1st exchanger (5th digit)

1 – one-row fin exchanger Use: water heater, water cooler Maximum operation pressure: 1.6 MPa.

3 – three-row fin exchanger Use: water heater, water cooler Maximum operation pressure: 1.6 MPa.

4 – four-row fin exchanger Use: water heater, water cooler Maximum operation pressure: 1.6 MPa.

R – three-row fin exchanger Use: cooler for direct cooling medium evaporation (R407 C) Maximum operation pressure: 2.3 MPa. Note: May be combined with a three-row water heater on the 2nd place.

E – electric heater Use: independent electric heater (the second exchanger may not be placed) Nominal values: 3 x 400 V, 50 Hz.

2nd exchanger (6th digit)

1 – one-row fin exchanger Use: water heater, water cooler Maximum operation pressure: 1.6 MPa.

E – electric heater Use: additional electric heater (either a three-row exchanger or an evaporator will be placed on the 1st position) Nominal values: 3 x 400 V, 50 Hz.

Operation mode (7th digit)

H – The unit operates only in the heating mode. It is not equipped with troughs for condensate removal.

C – The unit operates in the cooling mode; or, in combination of heating and cooling. The unit is equipped with either a horizontal or a vertical trough for condensate removal; the position of the trough depends on the unit’s orientation.

Unit’s orientation (8th digit)

The unit’s orientation is determined by the position of connecting flanges of exchangers. The electric wiring connection is always on the opposite side.

B – unit with jacket from both sides Suitable for units independently located in the space, or for units located at glass facade.

Suction modifications (10th digit)

0 – free suction Free space in the length of 100 mm as the minimum must be guaranteed in front of the unit suction.

A – legs

B – legs with suction grille in the front Suitable if combined with the A jacket modification.

C – legs with suction grille both in the front and the back Suitable if combined with the B jacket modification.

D – legs with a damper The unit enables additional suction of fresh air. The direction of fresh air suction from bottom or back sides may be changed by turning the suction branch. An in-wall frame (PZ1) and a rain louver into the exterior façade (PZ0) may be delivered as accessories.

F – plastic suction grate The grate is of the same design as the discharge grate on jacket. Suitable for an under-ceiling modification, or for placing on the wall in greater height.

Arrangement of motor speed (11th digit)

All units are equipped with six-speed motors. Three out of the speed options are in all cases pre-set by the manufacturer as Low, Medium, or High – depending on the expected output range.
