Fannie Mae is a government sponsored enterprise chartered by Congress to keep money flowing to mortgage lenders, to help strengthen the U.S. housing and mortgage markets, and to support affordable homeownership. We are a national mortgage finance company, but we don’t offer home loans.

Our Major Source of RevenueMortgage Backed Securities (MBS) Guaranty Fees (g-fee):
Fannie Mae provides a 100% guaranty of timely payment of interest and principal to the purchaser of the MBS (investors).
Fannie Mae charges approved lenders who
in turn charge borrowers for this guaranty timely payment feature that also serves as a means of income for Fannie Mae.
Mortgage Portfolio Investment
Fannie Mae purchases mortgages from the approved lenders and hold them in its portfolio. The income is
derived from the difference, or spread, between the yield on the mortgage loans and the borrowing costs to fund the investment.

Request Services Online (SOL)Use Request Services Online to order software and/or hardware, request a new pager, add members to a public mailing list, etc.
Select the SERVICES tab located at the top of the page.
When given the I Need… option, enter which software or hardware you need.
Once you have chosen the appropriate item, completely fill out the request form and select Save and Submit Request.
Submit a New Request:
In order to submit a new request open the e-support portal located on the task bar. (blue check mark)
Open eSupport Portal by selecting the blue check mark at the bottom of your screen
Required Software for all Fannie Mae employees: Microsoft Office Suite and Office Communicator*Ask your manager if there are any other programs you need!

Get ID Badge!
Contact your manager for directions to the Badge Office where you will be photographed to receive your ID badge.
Always carry a picture ID with you wherever you go. If you forget to bring your ID badge to work one day, a picture ID is required to issue you a temporary ID for the day.
Tips to Know: Always keep your badge visible If required, always swipe your badge before entering any Fannie Mae building and/or at the security desk. DO NOT leave the building without the person who escorted you in if you have not received a badge yet.
Only he/she can bring you back into the building.

Activate MeetingPlace Profile/PasswordMeetingPlace provides audio conferencing services to all users at Fannie Mae. It is available to everyone and provides each user with a personal, unique audio conferencing account, known as the MeetingPlace Profile Number or Meet-Me Line (MML).
3 things you need to know… Your MeetingPlace Profile Number is a unique 6-digit number that identifies you in the
MeetingPlace system It is also synonymous with the meeting ID number that other users use to join your audio
conference You must activate your Profile Number and password in order to host a meeting

Learn Meeting PlannerMeeting Planner is a tool on Microsoft Outlook that makes scheduling meetings much easier!
1) Open Microsoft Outlook and Select File > New > Meeting Request Write down your MeetingPlace Profile Number If you do not see Meeting Planner, then it is not installed on your computer (You will need to request
through SOL)
2) Select Scheduling Assistant at the top and figure out a suitable time for your attendees Type in the invited attendees names and select the Check Names button at the top You can also search for names under the Address Book button
3) Find a suitable time for everyone by looking up the schedules of the rest of the attendees Choose the desired time frame and drag the ends to increase or decrease meeting time

Time Reporting You will be redirected to Fannie Mae’s PaSSPort page where you will enter
your log-in information. This is the same information you use to login to your computer
3) Once your login is successful, a list of applications will appear. Select FieldGlass
4) Once you enter FieldGlass, a draft should be available. Select the draft for the current pay period and add your time (i.e.- June 17- June 30)
5) If it is the end of the pay period (usually the bi-weekly ending Friday), select Submit
NOTE: If it is NOT the end of the pay period, then you will select Complete Later Your time sheet will then be sent to your respective manager for approval

Office EtiquetteEmail Etiquette:
Keep it ShortEasy to read, short and clear. Save everyone’s time by linking to the resources instead of leaving everyone to find them individually.
Reply to All (Except for corporate-wide messages)Use your best judgment when it comes to Reply to All. The most common mistake amongst team members is the lack of communication. Check that everyone relevant is included. Cc those who need to be aware.
Descriptive SubjectThe subject of an email describes its content and attachments in a short sentence. If there is already a related email, reply to it. If it has a different subject create a new one.
Phone Etiquette:
When someone is calling your desk phone and you do not recognize the
name/number reply with the following:
“Hello, thank you for calling Fannie Mae, this is ____ (your name) ____.”
When out of the office, you don’t need to change your voicemail but put on
your OOO assistant.
If you are working in an open space, do not use speaker phone.

Instant Messaging (IM) vs. Email vs. PhoneWhen it comes to IM, email, and phoning another employee— note that the quality of your
messages will reflect your credibility, professionalism, and tech savvy.
Email is generally the best method of communication to start with first – use IM or the phone when it becomes urgent Email is also best to use when you want to easily archive your discussion— it is much more difficult to save your IM or phone
conversation, but you can always look up the information in an email that was sent weeks agoIM is generally meant for brief communication— Email or call if you need to discuss a long-winded or complicated topicBe cognizant of when and where to use IM within your department (For example, it may be inappropriate to IM someone during a

Gain Access to Virtual Private Network (VPN)
1) Acquire hard token/soft token2) Set up hard token/soft token using instructions that were delivered with token.
Call the 7’s if you encounter any issues (ex. 7777)3) Acquire access to Wi-Fi
Maneuver to security station in your designated building and ask for access to Wi-Fi
4) Connect to Wi-Fi Using credentials given
5) Open Internet Explorer An error message will pop up, select the red link that says Continue
6) Enter credentials given to you by security You must read the sheet they give you thoroughly
7) Once you gain access to the internet, go to https://ra.fanniemae.com, then select Continue
8) When prompted please enter your username (FM General User ID, ex: g6yyyy), your password (password associated with username), and pass code (the pass code your created + pass code available on token)
9) You will then be taken to a screen that will display the Remote Access Service Portal10) Select the Remote Desktop icon and enter your computer name
Computer name is FM General User ID-PC (Ex: gaztql-PC)11) When prompted, Select Connect 12) Your assigned FM computer log in screen will appear13) You now have full access to your assigned computer

Office Communicator Office Communicator 2007 is a unified communications application that helps its users be more productive by enabling them to communicate and collaborate easily with others in different locations or time zones.
There is a wide range of different communication options, including instant messaging (IM), voice, desktop sharing and video.
Integration with programs across the Microsoft Office system including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, Groove, and SharePoint gives users many different ways to communicate directly from the context of their task.

When Office Communicator is open it displays the user’s name and their status.
A users status changes based on their availability; from available , busy, and away.
To change your current status, select the colored icon that appears next to your name and a drop down menu will appear, allowing you to display your availability.
To add contacts to communicator simply type their name in the dialogue box that appears right below your status bar; when their name appears, Right-click on it and choose the action you wish to do.

Changing Login Password
1) Open eSupport Portal at the bottom right corner (Blue Checkmark) 2) Select Reset My Password under Tools & Utilities3) Select General User4) Enter your UserID (the same username to enter your computer)5) Select the link that says Click Here6) Enter a Security Question and Password that you will remember7) Enter your new Security Answer8) Select Next9) Enter your New Password
Your password must adhere to the following rules: Have a Password length of eight (8) or more total characters Have at least One (1) special character (such as @, #, $, etc)
NOTE: The special characters ‘<>;’ are not allowed Have at least One (1) lower case character
Have at least One (1) UPPER case character Have at least One (1) numeric character No word found in any dictionary or a proper name Not have your first name, last name or UserID
Within your first 10 days at Fannie Mae, you will need to reset your login password or it will be done automatically. You would then have to call the 7777’s and go through several unnecessary steps. Let’s tackle it now!

1) Record the main topics discussed in the meeting as well as the Actions Items that are to be completed after meeting.

Meeting Minutes are the notes from eachmeeting that gives an overview of everythingthat was discussed.
