FAO–KSA Cooperation Programme:Supporting Sustainability of Small Scale

Agriculture In Saudi Arabia

• Includes 16 on-going projects grouped into established sub-programmes

for improved coordination;

• Adopts a programme approach as opposed to the traditional project

approach;

• Activities are jointly implemented by several projects to address specific

problems as observed in the field and which are of direct relevance to

the Ministry’s needs and priorities;

• Strengthening functional linkages with the ministry’s counterparts

through participatory implementation of projects activities in

laboratories and under field conditions;

• Operationality and Sustainability of linkages ensured by creating the

Extension Centres for Integrated Farms and Pilot Farms to test and/or

develop innovative technologies for the purpose of their transfer and

adoption by small scale producers, agricultural cooperatives andwomen associations.
