There are a variety of ways to serve at KidsGames and help make this a great week for for the kids! Our biggest need is Guides (small group leaders) and Assistant Coaches. Review the volunteer section on the child registration form to indicate your availability to help. It's a wonderful opportunity to experience the fun of KidsGames with your child and to make friends with other parents! This is also a great opportunity for teens to earn their community service hours! Also, extra donations, no matter the size, are greatly appreciated! Check the "Donating Items" tab on the website to see some of our specific needs. Cash/Check donations will be used to sponsor a child needing financial assistance. All donations can be dropped off at the KidsGames booth during weekend services. WHAT CAN MY YOUNGER CHILD DO WHILE I VOLUNTEER? Childcare will be provided at no charge for children (ages 3 & under) of volunteers. (You must separately register each child that needs childcare at www.northcoastcalvary.org/kidsgames.) WHAT IF MY CHILD HAS A PEANUT ALLERGY? KidsGames is committed to having a peanut free campus. Parents are welcome to send a snack with their child if the child has food allergies and it is of concern. Please list all allergies on your child's registration form. WHAT IF I HAVE A FINANCIAL HARDSHIP? NCCC would like for all children who desire to participate in KidsGames to have that opportunity. If you have a financial hardship, please pick up a Scholarship Request Form at the KidsGames booth on the weekends. Scholarships are limited so register early. Turn in a paper registration along with the completed scholarship application. (Do NOT register online if you are requesting a scholarship.) MY KINDERGARTNER REALLY WANTS TO BE WITH HIS 1ST GRADE BROTHER? CAN I DO THAT? Unfortunately, no. We have set up each program to be age appropriate with activities and lessons geared towards the designated age group. Placing younger children in older groups changes the makeup of the entire group. We encourage parents to think of KidsGames as an opportunity for their young children to make new friends and grow in their comfort of new situations. WHAT IS THE CLOSING CELEBRATION? Each year we like to close KidsGames with a celebration spotlighting the events of the week. Some elective groups will share what they have learned during the week through performances. Others, will be highlighted through video scenes.. This is a great opportunity to meet some of your child's new friends and get a taste of what they've done each day. The Closing Celebration will begin at NCCC at12:15 on Friday. The 4th-6th grade program will end at noon, 30 minutes early, that day. Lunch will be available (tickets must be purchased during the week of KidsGames). Don't miss it! HOW MANY ELECTIVES DOES MY 1ST-3RD/4TH-6TH GRADE CHILD CHOOSE? Good question! He/She will participate in only one elective. We ask that you choose three electives because some electives fill up or are cancelled and we need to move on to the next choice. Please list 3 different choices when registering. MY CHILD HAS INVITED A FRIEND, AND THEY WANT TO BE TOGETHER. WHAT DO I DO? We understand this and try to honor it whenever possible! Here's how you can help. 4's/Kindergarten Program- Boys and Girls are mixed at this age, and no elective is chosen. Simply communicate with your child's friend to make sure both children are requesting each other. (Friend requests must be mutual.) 1st-3rd & 4th-6th Grade Program-Kids are placed in groups according to 2 criteria. 1. Elective choice- we do not mix electives within a group. 2. Gender- Groups are all boys or all girls. If your 1st-3rd or 4th-6th grade child would like to be with a friend, please make sure they are the same gender and signing up for the SAME elective. During this fun filled, high energy program, children rotate in pre-assigned, mixed gender groups to a variety of activities including Sports, Crafts, Jumpies, Music, and Bible Story.
