Farm Mechanization A step towards……….

•Opportunity provided through centrally funded schemes like NFSM& RKVY.

•Through both the schemes strategic popularization of farmMachinery initiated.

•Farm machinery training centre established to enhance skills offarmers and mechanics at SAMETI, Rehamankhera.

•All India Coordinated Research Project (AICRP) on FarmImplements and Machinery (FIM) has been endeavoring to develop, test and popularize need based farm implements

•159 farm implements and machinery have been designed anddeveloped under the AICRP on FIM

There are near about 835 agriculture machinery

manufacturers in India ( According to Directory Agricultural

Machinery Manufacturers in India by ICAR ) and buyers are

in no. of thousand & more then that. So farm machinery market

in India is oligopoly for most of the machineries.

PRESENTATION ON CULTIVATOR

20

Page 21: Farm machinery

In layman's language, cultivator is a large farm machine used for cultivation. This farm implement is used for stirring and pulverizing the soil for planting, or for weed control or moisture conservation. It is also used in mixing compost and fertilizer into the soil. This farm implement or machine is designed to destroy weeds with shallow roots and to break up surface soil near plants for aeration.

22

Page 23: Farm machinery

It is usually powered by tractors, especially row-crop

tractors. Industrial cultivators can vary greatly in size and

shape, from 10 feet (3 m) to 80 feet (24 m) wide. The largest

versions are now available in a 6 m (20 ft) width, and

require a tractor with an excess of 150 horsepower (110 kW)

PTO to drive them.

PADDY REAPER

26

Page 27: Farm machinery

Potential Market of Reaper With the features of functional and

high adaptation, this kind of machine

has a vast potential market.

Wheat, rice and other grain crops

are widely grown all over the world and

most of the areas have realized the

mechanization of agriculture.

While there are still some areas like hills, mountains and slope areas that are not suitable for large machines, the mini reaper and binder machine are very flexible and can adapt to different land forms.

The machines will offer great help for farmers in these areas and be welcomed by most of farmers.

duty to build contact with vendors and ensure the supplies are always

smooth, they are also entrusted to carry out first hand quality checking at

vendors end.

Timely delivery of products to esteemed clients is assured through a wide

network of distributors which is highly efficient in meeting the demands

deftly.

Nature of Market

• Market size: Approximately 20000 units

annually

• There are many local manufacturers

• Annual Growth: 10%

• Price range: Approximately $ 1600 – 2700 ; price depends on the

price of steel which is a key raw material

Market type—

oligopoly market—this type of market belong to many number of buyer and seller

33

Page 34: Farm machinery

There are so many unofficial and unusual points are present in the marketing channel and they are responsible for higher cost of machinery

An ideal Marketing Channel between Producer & Customer (Farmer), may be describe as bellow

34

Page 35: Farm machinery

Product Name:- Seed Drill

• Seed drills are the machines , they puts theSeed in the soil at aplanned soil depth-every time and savetime and labour.

35

Page 36: Farm machinery

Row crop planting:-— require precise row spacing and even

spacing of plants within the row.— generally corn, soybeans, sorghum

& cotton.

•Grain drills and air seeders:-— used to sow crops such as alfalfa, oats,

barley, and other small grains.

36

Page 37: Farm machinery

Seed drill reached to consumers mainly four type of marketing channel.

There are

→Manufacture - Consumer.

→Manufacture - wholesaler - retailer -

consumer.

→Manufacture - wholesaler agent –

retailer – consumer.

→Manufacture – manufacture representative –industrial distributor – consumer.

•TYPE OF MARKET

Seed drill market in India is oligopoly market.

37

Page 38: Farm machinery

A seed drill was created to do a number of things at the same time :-

— Make a seed row of a specific depth.

— Dropped in one seed at a time.

— Covered the seed to get good seed to soil

contact.

These are increase the production.

• The seed drill plant seed rows faster and work

longer in a day, In these way seed drill save

time, money and labour.
