POINT CLOUDTOOL IN AUTOCAD 2011

Insert > Point cloud tool

- AutoCAD can attach .PCG extension directlyor index tool as converting .FWS file into .PCG can be used- Attach > inserts point cloud in .PCG (exten-tion)format

- Index > used to convert fws file into .PCG format - click the index tool - open the .FWS file - save as .PCG file - click the attach tool and open the saved .PCG format

ALIGNMENT IN AUTOCAD

- Point clouds can be aligned in AutocadHorizontal AlignmentCommand : al ( Align) - select object (point clouds) - click first source point - click first destination point

- click second source point - click second destination point - enter - enter

POINT CLOUDS IN AUTOCAD

- Density of Point Clouds can be increased and decreased- Upper right pic > density value = 5- Middle right pic > density value = 50- Bottom right pic > density value = 100

FOR 2D DRAWING

- Point clouds can be re-draw using cad tools- Can be measured : is in real scale- Density value is increased and decreased to see detail.

- For specific detail, Point clouds can be filtered before bringing into Autocad - File size will be reduced and drawing can be clear

EXPORTING FWS FILE TO DXF FORMAT FOR AUTOCAD

Scan Points - Right click on Scan> Choose option to Export>and Export Scan points as .DXF- Change the rows and column values eg. Rows 5 (100/5 = 20% of total scans) Columns 5
