In 2010, the focus is on print, color, and detail. What is really cool about the upcoming season is that designers are mixing it up and combining all of these elements into a single suit, whether it be the triangle, bandeau, or one-piece.

On this Gypsy Bandeau & Gypsy Skimpy Pant, Rusty combines a flirtatious mauve ruffle with confetti and snakeskin, a popular animal print in 2010 swimwear collections.

The just-style report identifies six drivers of the market for swimwear worldwide, including an ageing population in the developed world, an increasing interest in body care, textiles with improved performance, global warming and more relaxed dress codes, social mobility, and a new generation of “flaunt-it” Indians, Southeast Asians and Chinese.

It also believes that the younger age group will increasingly wear swimwear in situations away from the sea and the pool.

The continuing development of figure-supporting and enhancing fabrics will encourage more older women to wear swimwear; and Western swimwear habits will take hold in the developing world, especially China and south east Asia.

INTRODUCTION

The market has changed recently Growth in the global retail market for swimwear is slowing down, according to by just-style. However, the blurring of the fashion brands and sports functionality, coupled with changing attitudes in developing regions, and is likely to provide new opportunities to keep the market up.

The retail market for swimwear and beachwear is forecast to rise from US$12.88bn in 2006 to US$13.51bn by 2012.This is growth of 4.9% over a six-year period - roughly equivalent to 0.8% per year and suggests that a sector that grew rapidly in the 1990s is now slowing down.

Women’s swimwear, which represented 70% of the total market in 2006, will drop to a 69% share in 2012, worth US$9.05bn, according to the ‘Global market review of swimwear and beachwear - forecasts to 2013.

Tribal synergy, influences a spring summer collection, which inspires style to empower strength and confidence as an individual. My color palette displays ultimate and unique tribal prints, which reflects, playful, iconic, and boldness. This is shown through nails and accessories. Colures are cultural and the shapes are memorable. Keys shapes are swimsuits, which has cuts in them, bikini top and shorts with African detail prints.

Wild safari is an erotic; natural and wild take on fashion. Colures are a mixture of warm colours such as dark browns to white, flame orange and cameral. My trend is really dominant which reflect on independency and strength. Swimwear reflects on a safari theme, which uses lions, and elephant, which are compared to woman of quality of life. Key shapes used in my trend board are leopard prints, zebra prints and warm patterns. Key fabrics will be silk materials with leopard prints to show the new trend.

Paradise Beach story

Paradise beach is an essential key theme, which influences every women, living the vibrant and happiness life. Fabrics used are floral prints to reflect the palette board. The colours are soft and peaceful to reflect everywoman living in paradise. Key shapes used in this trend are bath flowers halter neck bikini; floral prints swimsuits, one-shoulder print bikini, and floral ruffled swimsuit.

My promotional board represents a sexy, but bold exotic swimwear look for 2012 Olympics, inspired by different prints and ethnic style embroidery.

My promotional features rich colors and patterns which have received the most attention on the market from consumers, therefore these swimsuits will enhance vibrant colors and cuts that will definitely be out of the ordinary and will attract positive comments from the main source material ‘Lycra’. Which is waterproof and made to fit the swimmers of different shapes and sizes.

Collaborating with Speedo for the 2012 Olympics for female Swimmers will bring character and edge for our British team. When you are swimming in an urban environment, you need to feel safe, and comfortable and at the same time feminine.

My brand is the sum of all the characteristics that makes my collection unique Reputation, Customer Service, a Promise, Price, Feeling, Attitude and logo.

The attitude and feeling is to make 2012 Olympics swimmers feel good about what they are wearing and will stand out because you like the image and emotion associated with it.

is flexible and works well in a multi-channel sales environment. The logo used is a reputation that precedes its self into the market swimwear. DESCRIPTION OF LOGO!

The logo look different than other logos—especially those who share the same market space. It speaks color and excitement

Through marketing promotion, my collection will be promoted through from printed posters and banner stands, through to pop-up displays and charity events launching the swimwear to Speedo. Which will be hosted by Rebecca Aldington, the first British women to win a Olympic gold medal.

The impressive display board explores the relationship between swimwear and the liberation of women’s fashion. Its influence on swimming attire. These will indefinite cause a massive advertisement that will bring in buyers.

Building trust through marketing and communications will be very necessary to Speedo. This will appeal to sales presentations, press releases, advertising, business cards, and websites.

SELF EVALUATION

When given this assignment based on fashion forecasting, I found myself struggling, but talking to lectures I have gain a lot about how the fashion industry works. This is the prime issue underlying the issue of trends. I’ve realized that this vital activity where experienced fashion analysts scrutinize buying patterns signs for current market dynamics and project these in to future.

This assignment has taught me, how to become confident in exploring Photoshop, on how creative and fun it is to produce fantastic trend boards. I’ve really enjoyed this project especially researching on swimwear and looking into customer profiles that fit my trend.
