i seek to explore and document both tabboo and extreme themes within modernist culture. working across a range of platforms including fine art and fashion design in order to create compelling visuals, with the final intention of challenging contemporary sterotypes and raising awareness around the subjects. my recent project titled ‘sp3ctrum’ deals with the spectrum of fetishistic behaviour, attempting to both develop moving aesthetics and alter current perceptions.

enhancing something from it’s original state.
self-identification. -the act of identifying
oneself with certain qualities or characteristics
- trying to find oneself.
perfectionism. -refusal to accept anything short of perfection, will go to extreme lengths to achieve this.
disfigurementation. -the act of distorting something, often providing a misleading impression.
sado-masochism. -the sexual practise of deriving pleasure from simultaneous sadism and masochism.
infantalism. -the persistence of an adult acting abnormally childlike; both physically and psychologically.

sp3ctrum. - a project delving into the psychology within the extreme spectrum of fetishism and paraphilia’s. ‘sp3ctrum’ attempts to normalise such cryptic desires resulting in a higer level of social acceptance and understanding.
# 1 - kataptronophilia. -a paraphilia or obsession with mirrors & ones own reflection. could be for a number of reasons including personal enjoyment and self-obsession. on a deeper level, it could relate to a mental state of narcissism - the constant need to reflect and critique oneself.
# 22 - formicophilia. -the arousal of being crawled upon or nibbled by insects. the desired effect may be tickling, stinging or a slimy sensation. it may also be linked to the infliction of psychological distress on oneself or another person - sadism and masochism.
# 37 - asphyxiaphilia. -the intentional restriction of oxygen to the brain. when the human brain is deprived of oxygen it induces a lucid, semi-hallucinogenic state called a hypoxia, which combined with orgasm is said to be no less powerful than the rush experienced from heroin.
