India IT Center The IT Center in Goa, India opened in June 2009 with an additional location in Hyderabad with six members. Within three years the IT Center capacity increased more than 80 members with an additional location in Hyderabad. The IT Centers have become a key contributor to CommScope IT success. Based in Hickory, North Carolina, USA since being founded in 1976, CommScope is a private company owned by The Carlyle Group. Prior to January 2011, CommScope was a publicly traded company on the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker symbol CTV since its spin-off from General Instrument in 1997.
In January 2004, CommScope acquired Avaya’s Connectivity Solutions business. The company essentially doubled its size by adding the business’ divisional headquarters/SYSTIMAX Labs in Richardson, Texas, and manufacturing facilities located in Omaha, Nebraska, and Bray, Ireland.
In December 2007, CommScope acquired Andrew Corporation. The business included a range of wireless connectivity products and systems such as antennas, cables and connectors, amplifiers, repeaters, transceivers as well as site monitoring software and field training.
In 2011, CommScope acquired two companies—LiquidxStream Systems of Montreal, Canada, and Argus Technologies of Sydney, Australia—to strengthen its bandwidth solution offerings. LiquidxStream is a leader in dense universal edge QAM (quadrature amplitude modulation) systems, with a solution that can help cable operators reduce capital and operating expenses by significantly lowering requirements for power, cabling, rack space and cooling. Argus, a leading producer of innovative antenna solutions for wireless applications, enables CommScope to broaden its antenna solutions portfolio, deepen its research and development capabilities, strengthen its global market presence and accelerate its growth in the wireless market.
In March 2013, CommScope acquired iTRACS Corporation, a global leader in open, enterprise-class data center infrastructure management. The acquisition strengthened CommScope’s position in infrastructure management and enabled CommScope to provide one of the industry’s most comprehensive, automated and open infrastructure management platforms.
In July 2013, CommScope acquired Redwood Systems, an industry leader in LED lighting solutions and integrated sensor networks for data centers and buildings. The acquisition strengthened CommScope’s position in intelligent building infrastructure solutions, enabling the company to provide one of the industry’s most comprehensive and automated infrastructure management platform.
