Marine:Over several decades of service to the marine industry, Alloy has established long relationships with boat manufacturers including sail, power, canoe, kayak, etc. and the original equipment suppliersof marine related products.The result of these partnerships has expanded our knowledge of the various requirements of the industry.

As manufacturers strive to improve the value of their product,Alloy has supported them by improvingavailable fastener options.This includes an attention to materials and finishes.

Materials include stainless in 316, 18-8 (302 and 304), brass, silicon bronze, and monel. Also, as aresult of testing and education, Alloy offers coatings that provide greater corrosion resistance andcolor matching for detailed finish work. Finishes include chrome plating, black xylan, black oxide andpainted heads.

Curtainwall:Alloy’s experience with curtainwall illustrates another industry where Alloy has been at the forefront.

During the Malaysian Towers project, Alloy developed a specialty screw that has since become theindustry standard for attaching the aluminum panels to the frame.

In order to more effectively service the unique demands of this industry, our manufacturing arm produces various specialty screws and custom machine parts with a minimum two-week lead time.

We are also a Master Distributor for Dril-Flex and one of the top two distributors for Elco Textron.We routinely stock and supply industry specific fasteners such as:Type B, F, 23, Dril-Flex, custom AB,and C; hex and hex washer heads; tap tites; wedge anchors and threaded rod. Window & Door:We currently offer some of the top Regional and National manufacturers extensive bin-stock programs,customized to their specific needs. AllFlex® stainless steel thread cutting and self-tapping fasteners are made in the U.S.A. and have aproven success record in architectural applications around the world.They are the ideal fasteningsolution for curtain walls, windows, doors and other applications that include a dissimilar metal,such as aluminum. Stainless steel coupled with the Stalgard® GB coating gives AllFlex® superior protection in the harshest environments.

Stainless steel offers long-term corrosion resistance in aggressive environments such as coastalareas and other applications where moisture may accumulate. However, stainless steel is not always compatible when fastened to a different type of metal which may cause galvanic corrosion.To prevent this, each AllFlex® fastener is coated with Stalgard® GB (Galvanic Barrier) finish.Stalgard® GB provides far greater galvanic protection for aluminum components than plain finish300 series stainless steel fasteners.

Combats Two Types of CorrosionUniform Corrosion is the general breakdown of a metal into an oxide of the metal or other corrosionproduct.The most common type of uniform corrosion is the visible formation of red rust on steel.300 series stainless steel provides excellent resistance to uniform corrosion.

Galvanic Corrosion occurs when dissimilar metals are joined in the presence of an electrolytelike water. One metal will become the anode, or sacrificial component, and the other metal will bethe cathode, or the metal that does not corrode. Stalgard® GB coating provides a galvanic barrier to protect aluminum from becoming sacrificial to the stainless fastener. Preserving the integrity of both the fastener and the application materials help prevent joint failure and retain high aesthetic quality.
