DON’T TOUCH PLEASE!Fatboy the Original is a Jukka Setälä design. The Finnish designer created this bean bag design back in 1998. At the time, this was viewed as the new seating for the 21st century. Which is why the Finnish National Museum included the Original in its permanent collection. By now, the name Fatboy is synonymous with bean bag. Not surprising really with well over 1 million already sold! It’s a classic. Perhaps that’s why the Original also holds another surprising record, that of the most copied bean bag in the world.

In fact: we have our own staff working there on location. This enables us to constantly guarantee the quality of our products and factories. Each factory is an extension of our company. In fact, Fatboy puts a smile on their faces too.

SAFETY & SUSTAINABILITYReach is a European Community Regulation on chemicals and is an acronym for the Registration, Evaluation and Authorisation and restriction of Chemical substances. Its objective is clear and unequivocal. Reach aims to manage the risks created by the use of chemicals such as spills, fires and explosions, health risks among employees and consumers, and damage to the environment. The regulation came into effect on 1 June 2007.

The regulation consists of a list drawn up by a committee stating the maximum percentage of chemicals products manu-factured in or imported into Europe are allowed to contain. The list is annually expanded and modified. The regulation also created a registration obligation for every transgression. Fatboy takes things further though: we have decided that none of our products may exceed the limits set by the Reach list. To achieve this we utilise a lot of ‘green’ coatings and raw materials. Most of our products are treated with fire-retardant coatings. Safety first.
