Fatima is a young Emirati designer born in 1989 in Dubai. She graduated from Dubai modern education school in 2007 and is currently a senior student at Zayed University majoring in graphic design. Her interests are in photography, typography, illustration and graphic design and Arabic calligraphy

She participated in a number of exhibitions and fairs such as ZU Exhibitions 2011 with two of her Chinese paintings and in the DMES photography fair 2007. She also organized a number of school events such as (National day, Festival Day, Science Fair, Sports Day).

In my designs I try to reflect my personality, as a young Emirati designer, who has a lot of ideas and thoughts and want to translate them into art pieces to deliver my voice through them, because in my opinion art is a universal language which we can communicate through no matter which language, nationality or religion we belong to.

Dubai is my home town, which become my first inspiration because of different nationalities that we have, and the different creative buildings that inspire me in my design. Mohammed Saed Harib the director of freej is my role model because his art works are cross cultural and combines all of his passions and interest in directing, photography and illustration in one art work, to reflect the Emirati culture and identity in a fun and easy way for people to understand.

I am interested in photography; typography, illustration and graphic design because I am more interested to produce 2D designs. Through learning more about these techniques I can reach my goal by creating a unique designs that reflect my personality as an Emirati designer, through combing Arabic calligraphy into my designs.

One of my goals is that through my designs I can change and aware people about the global issues that we are facing now days, to have better future for the next generation.

Artist Statment

My concept for the ISEA 2014 Dubai logo was to focus on the three words: locations, science and connection. The shape that I created has four-circles to representˇlocations, ˇ the lines between them show ˇconnec tion,ˇ and the entire shape represents ˇscience. ˇ Each circle uses a different tone of blue to show the differentparts of the conference. A pattern was created to rep resent the technology aspect of the conference, along with arrows to show interactive connections. The color palette (blue and orange) was chosen to enhance the theme, with blue representing science and technology.and orange representing Dubai as modern and bright

Deck Of CardsThe goal of this project was to produce a deck of cards. First were cut into Groups of four, each take a sign, and then we chose a theme. Our theme was the four seasons. My sign was spade and the theme is winter. I decided toshowhow is the winter in UAE, because what most of us do in the winter, we go on Camping. So I chose the things that we normally use in camping and draw them a sketchy way by illustrator .For the King, Queen and Jack I choseto dress them the traditional UAE dress because this what we usually wear. I created own spade because I wanted to match with my illustrations and tohave the look and feeling.

This is self-promotional project that represent me to a potential client after an interview. I decided to promote my self as a photographer because its my favorite hobby. First I created the logo and I put it on a box.Next,I decided to show my photography by making post cards that people can use with my logo on the other side.in the box I put an illustration of a camera that I made in illustrator for visual interest .the final box shows that I am a photographer with.the die cut camera lens on the top and slick black color on the outside
