Standard spacing for preset inserts is 24”OC. 12” OC insert spacing is also available.
Duct inserts are 2” pipe sized zinc die castings radiused internallyfor safe wire pulling.
The 1 inch (7/8” actual size) high preset inserts are the standard formost applications requiring 1” topping over the underfloor ductwhich is considered the minimum covering for the underfloor ductsystem. Higher insert heights are available in 1/2” increments up to2-7/8” ( 3” topping). See Table A, Page 4 for details.

Duct Wire Fill Capacity.
The National Electrical Code establishes that ducts cannotbe filled more than 40%. The chart shows the Max. Qty. ofcables (same type) allowed in each duct.
F3 duct cross sectional area: 3.94 Sq. In. (40% fill = 1.56 Sq. In.)F6 duct cross sectional area: 8.75 Sq. In. (40% fill = 3.5 Sq. In.)

How to choose the right duct size for your project?
Before selecting a duct, it is very important to determine the type and quanity of cables required for your project as well asthe duct wire fill allowance. Determined the 40% duct fill ratio, you can select the duct that best meet your project needsassuring compliance with the NEC.

Junction Boxes
Junction boxes are configured with up to four openings onall four sides in combinations to provide for a wide variety ofduct applications.
Multiple compartment junction boxes have interior partitionswhich keep the duct runs separated inside the box and pro-vide a continuous path through the box to the exiting ductruns.
Corner conduit feeds are also available upon request. See item F395.
Standard boxes are fabricated from galvanized steel with around 1/4” thick mild steel plate (6” cover plate is die cast).Junction boxes have adjustable cover plate assemblieswhich allow for 1/2” vertical adjustment upwards permittingaccurate leveling to the finished floor.
Heavy duty junction boxes are available for applicationswhen heavy loads will be placed or rolled over the duct sys-tems. These boxes are constructed with 3/8” thick cover-plates and the boxes are provided with adjustable supportstuds as required for the application. Please contact factoryfor further details.
Junction boxes are placed at duct intersections to provide:
1 - Access to the underfloor duct system in order to pull wires or make splices.2 - A method to separate duct runs as they cross each other at the intersection.3 - A means of connecting the duct system to conduit.

We manufacture several stainless pans and rings which fit the round junction box cover plate to accept a wide variety of floorcoverings. The “pan” style accessories are available in single lip, used for tile and carpet and double lip used for carpet (providesprotection against fraying on both cut edges. 1/8” deep pans normally supplied for carpet. 1/4” deep are normally supplied fortile.
Also available is a carpet ring which installs over the cut joint in the carpet and stands up better against loads which can deformthe “lip” of conventional carpet pans.

Duct supports are supplied to hold ducts in place before and during the concrete pour. Supports are manufactured fromgalvanized steel for maximum corrosion resistance and are available in configurations to match all combinations of ductruns as specified in the junction box listings.
A variety of leg heights are available to provide for pours of up to 8-3/4”. Each support is also adjustable by means of aleveling screw on each leg to provide adjustment within a range of 1-1/2”.
