Simon Phifer, 79, farmer- from Chase Mills t w^s gtrpclj ' S ^ u y d a y by Simon Rubin, 29, of 12 'N. Main St. on the Madrid-Chase Mills road while driving a herd of sheep a long the road. Rubin says tha t he slowed down to a spged of five miles per hour while going by the sheep. According to police, Phifer was probably unable to hear or see Rubin's approach because of his advanced age.
George Smith of Potsdam suffered three broken ribs and fractured jaw and Margare t Colvert, 24, of Norwood was cut about the face Monday when Smith's au tomobile collided with a truck operated by Clifford Wilkins, 33, of Route 3, Winthrop. Wilkips was uninjured.
