Before InstallingThis information is includedasaquickreference installationguide.Refer to thecontrolpanel installationmanual fordetailedsysteminformation.Ifthemoduleswillbeinstalledinanexistingoperationalsystem,informtheoperatorandlocalauthoritythatthesystemwillbetemporarilyoutofservice.Disconnectpowertothecontrolpanelbeforeinstallingthemodules.

General DescriptionFCM-1SupervisedControlModulesareintendedforuseinintelligent,two-wiresystems,wheretheindividualaddressofeachmoduleisselectedusingthebuilt-inrotaryswitches.Thismoduleisusedtoswitchanexternalpowersupply,whichcanbeaDCpowersupplyoranaudioamplifier(upto80VRMS),tonotificationappliances.ItalsosupervisesthewiringtotheconnectedloadsandreportstheirstatustothepanelasNORMAL,OPEN,orSHORTCIRCUIT.TheFCM-1hastwopairsofoutputterminationpointsavailableforfault-tolerantwiringandapanel-controlledLEDindicator.ThismodulecanbeusedtoreplaceaCMX-2modulethathasbeenconfiguredforsupervisedwiringoperation.
Compatibility RequirementsToensureproperoperation,thismoduleshallbeconnectedtoacompatibleNotifiersystemcontrolpanelsonly(listavail-ablefromNotifier).
MountingTheFCM-1mountsdirectlyto4˝squareelectricalboxes(seeFigure2A).Theboxmusthaveaminimumdepthof21/8˝.Surfacemountedelectricalboxes(SMB500)areavailable.
