About Feature films

• Feature films is a film with a running time approx.. 70 mins (more or less)

• They were first produced in 1910s when they were silent movies. Early films with sound was Oliver Twist (1912)

• Examples of feature films genres are horror, comedy, drama, action.

• Feature films are mostly exhibited in cinema before arriving on home entertainment with dvds and blu ray. There are also varies of websites to go on for films like netflix and love film.

Horror• Insidious is a feature horror film,

which came out in 2010. These would have been single camera as each part is on for a bit, but kept cutting back. There would have been a few more cameras also in some scenes but they would have shot this with one camera or two.

Comedy

• Bruce almighty is comedy starring jim carrey, which was released in 2003. Which is on for 101 minutes. This would have been a multi camera as there are different parts to the film where there is close up, wide angles and more. But it would have been single also as there are parts which have been took over more than once as there are behind the scenes too.

Action• Transformers is a action

film which was released in 2007. which features Shia LaBeouf and Megan Fox. This film would have been on single camera but also with multi camera, as some parts would have took more than one shot to record . There are a few when there are probably more than one camera and for when they are speaking and keeps switching and wide angle too.

Romance

• The last song is feature film starring Miley Cyrus and this would have been a single camera also, as the movie is set basically on a small town and few parts are the same so they would have shot in different locations for each one.

Series/Serial

• Series are like a series of episodes of a TV production, such as Vampire Diaries, Being Human, How I met your mother. These are single camera as they are in different locations. But also multicamera too. Different techniques like close ups, editing and stuff are used in this. As there is more time to produce it and make it right for the shows.

Single Drama

• Single drama is a drama that is on once say on a Sunday night. This is a single camera shot as they will take longer to do. They are most likely like a film but made for tv in short episodes.

• Example blackout a new single drama. Which is about a guy who has a blackout and he may think he is responsible for murder.

Soap Opera

• Soap operas, such a east enders, coronation street and holly oaks are multi camera. They are multi because they are half an hour long and shot in different scenes, they will do one scene and maybe do another scene another day and put it together and edit also.

Music Video

• Music video, such as narrative, performance or either both are single camera or multicamera (performance, live) narrative will be single as it is a music story and they are planned take by take, scene by scene. Live performances will be multi as it will be live so there will be 4 or more camera with a room full of the camera shots and will choose the best shots throughout of the performance.

Documentary

• Documentary, such as documentary on actors, history or any genre really. Will be a single, as a person with camera will take a recording of everything they want in the documentary and then will just edit it throughout or afterwards and put it all together.
