D-1100 FEATURES
Features and Options of In-Line design offer efficiency and economy
Worthington, a name synonymous with excellence in modern pump design and engineering, offers the D-1100 vertical in-line pumps. The application advan-tages of the D-1100 vertical in-line pump will provide the solution to many of the problems facing industry today. Built to rigid specifications, all pumps are fitted with stainless steel internal parts; closed, scalloped impeller; wear-resistant shaft sleeve; and money-saving, optional inducer. These construction high-lights combined with rugged standardized JMV ex-tension and JPV extension motors produce an efficient and economical package that's hard to beat.
20E-20254
In-line mounting offers many money-saving features and advantages.
• Simplified plant layout because of reduced space requirements and in-line mounting
• Easy, economical installation — No concrete foun-dation or grouting needed
• Rotating assembly and motor can be removed with-out disturbing the piping
• Eliminates alignment costs and problems
• Pump inspection and maintenance can be accom-plished at pump site saving time and money
In addition to these advantages, the optional inducer is also offered on the D-1100 vertical in-line pumps. The inducer lowers required NPSH of a given pump over the normal operating range. This affords the op-portunities of lower inlet pressures, better tank ar-rangements, and higher suction lifts. It will allow selection of pumps at higher speeds thereby enabling selection of a less costly pump. Should NPSH prob-lems occur after startup the inducer may be added without disturbing the pump piping system or basic pump configuration.

FEATURES D-1100
Stainless Steel fitted for reliable performance
The Worthington D-1100 vertical in-line pumps offer flexibility and durability in construction design and materials, depending on the specific application re-quirements. Pumps are available in ductile iron, 316 stainless steel or Worthite 20 construction.
All D-1100 vertical in-line pumps have stainless steel internal parts to provide maximum performance under severe operating conditions. The shaft sleeve, the im-peller and the impeller mounting screw and washer are all made of stainless steel to prevent corrosion and extend wear life.
The standard shaft sleeve construction eliminates the necessity of replacing the entire motor shaft, should the surface under the seal or packing begin to wear. The closed, scalloped impeller, the optimum selec-tion for most pump applications, retains its high effi-ciency longer than open impeller designs. It also provides:
• Inherent axial hydraulic balance resulting in longer seal and bearing life.
• Low NPSH requirements
• No clearance adustment necessary
20,20290
The impeller is held securely in place by a positive lock washer and impeller screw, and is keyed to the shaft for best possible transmission of torque.
All these stainless steel "standards" mean greater savings and service to the customer, through supe-rior hydraulics, interchangeability, and unexcelled modularity.

FEATURES D-1100
Choice of Motor Design for application flexibility standardized for economy and availability
2014-4 Page 4 September 1973
To assure maximum flexibility, availability and econ-omy, Worthington's D-1100 vertical in-line pumps are being offered with two motor design standards.
The NEMA "C" face standard motor, designed for use on vertical in-line pumps, offers the best availability and economy. This motor has single row ball bearings which are of adequate size to handle normal pump loads.
The alternate motor design is the ANSI* standard "C" face motor, specifically designed for vertical in-line pumps. This motor includes double row ball bearings to minimize shaft deflection and end play, an extra large diameter shaft, and TEFC construction. Depend-ing on the application, explosion proof motors are available.
Both of these motors are equipped with drip cover and lifting eye bolts or lugs.
The D-1130 pump utilizes a NEMA JM shaft extension motor. This shaft extension is for use with a mechani-cal seal.
The D-1131 and D-1132 pump models utilize the NEMA JP shaft extension motor and can be furnished with either the NEMA standard motor or the ANSI vertical in-line standard motor design. This shaft extension is for use with convertible box (D-1131) or mechanical seal cover (D-1132). Standard motors mean greater availability and economy; both on its initial application and in any subsequent field requirements which might arise. These motors are produced by most major mo-tor manufacturers and in many cases are readily avail-able as a stock item.

FEATURES
D-1100
D-1100 Provides extensive coverage to meet your exact needs
This thoroughly engineered modular pump line provides superior hydraulics and better cover-age across the board, as the "flag chart" below shows. You'll find more and better selections at any design point. And that means whatever your application — even if it falls at the top or bottom of the chart where efficiency is traditon-
ally hard to come by — you can select a pump to reduce operating costs.
Each pump in the line (ranging up to 60 hp, ca-pacities up to 800 gpm, heads up to 600 ft.) is designed for optimum performance with great-est reliability and lowest cost.
