Oh, the Things You Can Do!.../ActivBoard Basics Audience: K-12 Teachers This hands-on training will include instruction on the use of the interactive whiteboard in the classroom to engage students. Participants will be introduced to ActivInspire software with an emphasis on innovative teaching approaches that integrate the interactivity and engaging content this technology brings to the curriculum. Please note that the ActivBoard Basics Course is being taught in a blend of face-to-face meetings and online assignments. Teachers will create interactive flipcharts based on the Danielson Framework. Participants will present their lessons to their students and to the other course participants. Participants must attend all 4 face-to-face sessions and complete all online assignments to earn credit. Food Science Education Series – “Food Science and You”
Training focused on Science and Food Safety for 5th-12th Grade Science Teachers. This training will feature hands-on activities and will demonstrate how to implement inquiry based science in the classroom using real-world applications of science in the food industry. Teachers will receive a disk containing a curriculum kit (student and teacher guides, and DVD with curriculum videos). Participants will also receive other materials relative to the FDA program.
