Telluride Trip Report

By Nancy Guethlein Twenty-nine NSC members just returned from a fantastic week in Telluride, CO. It was cold. Did I say it was cold? It was very cold, which is very unusual for Telluride at this time of year, but we sur-vived!!!!! We did have fresh snow while we were there and that made great skiing. We stayed at the world famous Peaks Ski & Spa Resort, where we were treated as royalty. The ski-in/ski-out and great-looking ski boys that helped remove our skis (and sometimes helped with our boots) spoiled us for all trips in the future. We would like to welcome new members to the NSC: Bess & Tom Gormley, Brenda Vincent, Alan Cornwell, and Janice Mosely. We would also like to recognize Kelly Reedy & Beth Stubbs for mak-ing Telluride their 2nd ski trip with the NSC. Also, welcome back to Fred Carnes, who returned to skiing after knee surgery following an injury on the Breckenridge Trip three years ago! There was a bit of excitement on our last skiing day---pipes burst in The Peaks (remember, it was cold) and the hotel had to be evacuated for several hours that afternoon. The Peaks sent us to a near-by restaurant and bought ALL of our drinks and food while we were displaced……not a bad deal!!!! Thanks so much to Sara & Bill Bass, Ken Icenhour, Bob Fortner, Lea Brosky and Kelly Reedy who had to change rooms due to the flooding. All other rooms were not affected. (cont. on next page)
