Blowfly has passed. Clarence Reid contributed greatly to the Miami
R&B scene in the late 60s and 70s. His other persona was the caped
and masked character of Blowfly whose profane parodies offered a
new insight into scatological innuendo. His New York Times obituary
said “A final album is scheduled for release next month. Neither its title
nor those of about half of its songs are suitable for printing in this
newspaper.” That referenced album, entitled 77 Rusty Trombones, is
available this month from Saustex Media with the LP version available in

The Rocket Summer is Bryce Avary, who writes and produces every
song he records and plays every instrument---an example Leonardo
DaVinci's many-sided-man theory manifested. In the past 15 years his
albums have charted extremely well both physically and digitally (#1 on
iTunes in 2010). The latest, Zoetic, is available on both CD and LP.
Everyone loves the resurgence of LPs and 45s, but let’s face it, a lot of
folks do not have record players to spin these platters on. We also know
that many have drooled over the Voodoo Doughnuts singles released
in the past year and a half, but without a turntable have been unable to
hear the tunes spewed forth. SOLVED!!! This month we have The
Sprinkle King presents "You Know What You Should Do…" a two CD
collection of those releases and more enshrined in a package that pays
homage to two albums we all know and love. Dig it!
In the Kindie world, we have album #6 from The Not-Its! and a new one
from Emily Arrow. We also offer some catalogue titles from both
Falling UP and Piney Gir to accompany her latest, mR. hYDE'S wILD
rIDE which we have on CD and LP. Also on LP is the latest Javier

Fal l ing Up, HoursFalling Up was an American experimental rock band from Oregon whose music was based on Christian
roots but evolved through a number of style transformations from nu-metal to rap-rock to electronic rock
and morphing into an ambient pop/indie rock sound when the band dissolved . Falling Up formed in
October 2001 and released their debut album in 2004. The band's name is derived from the first song they
wrote, which refers to how imperfect people are, but how sufficient the grace of God is to compensate for
it. In harmony with their name, their lyrics are heavily grace-themed.

Jav ier Escovedo, Kicked Out Of Eden LPKicked Out of Eden is the second solo release by Javier Escovedo, founding member of The Zeros and
The True Believers and a pioneer of the ‘70s West Coast punk movement. Arguably Javier is the greatest
contributor to rock’n’roll of the storied Escovedo family that includes older brothers Pete and Coke

Future El evators, Future El evatorsMichael Shackelford first wrote down the words “FUTURE” and “ELEVATORS” a few years ago on a rough
instrumental demo. The music never grew into a finished song, but that simple, surprisingly evocative
phrase stuck. It’s an apt phrase for one of Birmingham’s most original musical acts. Shackelford—the
group’s founder, mainstay, and guiding creative force—is something of a pop confectioner who thinks up
impossible sounds and makes them a reality. His self-titled debut as Future Elevators expertly mixes
whimsy and gravity, the fantastical with the everyday. Even as he grounds his lyrics in real-world issues, he
fills his songs with new and improbable combinations of familiar sounds: the jagged pastoral folk of
“Alabama Song,” the Rube Goldberg blues riffs of “Machine Maker,” the retro-futuristic r&b of “Modern
World,” the warm drone of the ten-minute instrumental closer “Aphrodite.” Shackelford spent a year
piecing his debut album together. Recording with him was Lynn Bridges (Devendra Banhart/Dexateens)
and the album was mixed by Darrell Thorp (Radiohead/Beck).
