Deadline for the May SAT is April 5, 2019 Deadline for the April ACT is March 8, 2019 FEBRUARY DEADLINES AMERICAN INDIAN ENDOWED SCHOLARSHIP: Scholarship awards range from about $500 to $2,000. Deadline: February 1, 2019 DAUNA LEIGH BAUER SCHOLARSHIP-GONZAGA UNIVERSITY: This scholarship is for students applying to Gonzaga University. The Dauna Leigh Bauer Scholarship was established for students with a 3.75 GPA, SAT of at least 1310 or ACT of 28+. Students must complete all applications and financial aid requirements as well the scholarship application by February 1, 2019. Please see www.gonzaga.edu/scholarships. There are other scholarships listed with varying amounts. Deadline: February 1, 2019 EASTERN WASHINGTON UNIVERSITY: Eastern’s scholarships are awarded through the University Scholarship Application Form that is available online at: www.ewu.edu/scholarships. Applicants must have a minimum 2.8 GPA and write five essays to be considered. Amounts vary. Deadline: February 1, 2019 ENGINEER GIRL WRITING CONTEST: This writing contest asks students to submit works of fiction. We want stories about women and girls saving the day with their wits, skill, and whatever resources they can find to solve the problem. Winners will receive $500 for 1st place, $250 for 2nd, and $100 for 3rd. Learn more about the topic and submit here: www.engineergirl.org/108311/2019-contest. Deadline: February 1. 2019 EPSILON SIGMA ALPHA SCHOLARSHIPS: The Epsilon Sigma Alpha Foundation is an international leadership organization focused on international leadership and service. FEDERAL WAY CHORALE SCHOLARSHIP: The Federal Way Chorale offers a $2,000 tuition scholarship to help a graduating high school senior from a high school in Federal Way or surrounding area who plans to major/minor in choral/vocal music in college. Deadline: February 1, 2019 FREEDOM FORUM INSTITUTE SCHOLARSHIP: **Juniors intending to study journalism starting in the 2020 school year may apply for this scholarship. The purpose of the Al Neuharth Free Spirit and Journalism Conference is to promote the vital role of the First Amendment as a cornerstone of democracy and to inspire students to pursue journalism careers. High school juniors who will graduate in spring 2020 are encouraged to apply for the 2019 conference at the Newseum in Washington, D.C. Deadline: February 1, 2019 JACKIE ROBINSON FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIP: Senior students are eligible to be considered for this scholarship if they are a graduating minority student who plans to attend an accredited four-year institution within the United States. Qualified applications must show leadership, dedication to community service and financial need. Additional requirements include US citizenship, a minimum combined score of 1000 on the math and critical reading portion of the SAT or a score of 21 on the ACT. Scholarships are up to $7,500. Deadline: February 1, 2019 THE IGNATIAN LEADERS SCHOLARSHIPS-GONZAGA UNIVERSITY: This scholarship serves students who have demonstrated academic achievement requiring a 3.5 GPA and leadership ability within their community. Must have admissions application for Gonzaga University on file by February 1, 2019, but does not have to have received acceptance yet. Deadline: February 1, 2019 WINSTON TWO DIMENSIONAL ART SCHOLARSHIPS: In honor of Naomi Rabb Winston, NSAL established an annual scholarship fund for young visual artists between the ages of 16 and 22. Applicants must demonstrate exceptional talent and promise of future success. The scholarship funds are only for private study, for special training or for personal advancement in the applicant’s art career. They can be used for workshops, museum programs, summer programs, etc. The funds cannot be used for college tuition, housing or travel. Deadline: February 1, 2019 NATIONAL FFA SCHOLARSHIPS: Through the National FFA Foundation, businesses and individuals sponsor scholarships that are awarded to students with a wide variety of higher education plans and career goals. Deadline: February 6, 2019 AMS MINORITY SCHOLARSHIPS: The AMS Minority Scholarships will award funding to minority students who have been traditionally underrepresented in the sciences, especially Hispanic, Native American, and Black/African American students. Funding for the scholarships are established through donations made by members to the AMS Giving Program. BEZOS SCHOLARS PROGRAM: This scholarship program is for **juniors (in the 2018-2019 school year), in which they go on a leadership conference in Aspen, CO, and have monthly webinars to support their community leadership project. After the year-long program, Bezos Scholars continue to support and inspire one another—sparking positive change in their communities. Deadline: February 14, 2019 QUEER FOUNDATION ESSAY CONTEST: The Queer Foundation Scholarship Fund promotes effective writing by, about, and/or for queer youth. The Queer Foundation offers to the winners of each year's essay contest $1,000 scholarships to the U.S. college or university of their choice to study queer theory or related fields. Deadline: February 14, 2019 ALZHEIMER’S FOUNDATION OF AMERICA SCHOLARSHIPS: Each year, AFA holds a Teens for Alzheimer’s Awareness Scholarship Essay Contest which asks high school seniors to describe how Alzheimer’s disease changed or impacted their lives. Whether they’ve had a loved one with the disease, volunteered or worked as a caretaker or are just passionate about the cause, the next generation of leaders in the fight against Alzheimer’s have a story to tell. Essays should be a max of 1,500 words. Prizes include: 1st: $5,000; 2nd: $2,500; 3rd: $1,500; 4th: $1,000; 5th: $750; 6th: $500. RICH MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM: $50,000 over 4 years. The recipients of GAR scholarships are exceptionally qualified high school students with demonstrated financial need whose parents or guardians have, or had, a career in the financial services industry. WASHINGTON STATE EMPLOYEES CREDIT UNION SCHOLARSHIP: Washington State Employees Credit Union (WSECU) will award $2,500 scholarships to students attending a four-year or graduate school in the fall of 2019. WSECU will also award $1,500 scholarships to students seeking a two-year or vocational degree or certificate. Applicants must be WSECU members in good standing. Deadline: February 18, 2019 WASHINGTON STATE FAIR FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIPS: The Washington State Fair Foundation has several scholarship opportunities for local senior students to continue their education. The Fair Chance Scholarship is given to 14 students and worth $3,000. The Anderson Criminal Justice Scholarship is worth $5,000 and given to only one student. Deadline: February 19, 2019 THE VEGETARIAN RESOURCE GROUP SCHOLARSHIP: One award of $10,000 and two awards of $5,000. A scholarship for graduating seniors who have promoted vegetarianism in their school and/or communities. Vegetarians do not eat meat, fish, or fowl. Deadline: February 20, 2019 2019 MANLY YMTA MARTIME EDUCATIONAL SCHOLARSHIP: This scholarship is for high school seniors interested in pursuing maritime training and education in community colleges, technical and vocational programs, colleges, universities, maritime academies or other educational institutions. Deadline: February 22, 2019 WOMEN’S UNIVERSITY CLUB SCHOLARSHIP: Senior women are eligible to apply. Deadline: February 25, 2019 CHIN: SHUI KUEN AND ALLEN CHIN SCHOLARSHIP: Up to 2 awards of $1,000 will be awarded to incoming freshmen with a 3.0 minimum GPA, community advocacy and social justice work on behalf of Asian American, immigrant, gay and lesbian and/or other progressive causes, a financial need, and be working or have a parent current or formerly working at an Asian-owned or Asian cuisine restaurant. Selection is based on community/school involvement, leadership potential and academic achievement. An essay and two letters of recommendation are required. Deadline: February 28, 2019 GOVERNORS’ SCHOLARSHIP-UP TO $20,000: The Washington State Governors’ Scholarship for Foster Youth helps young men and women from foster care continue their education and earn a college degree. LEADERSHIP 1000 SCHOLARSHIP-UP TO $20,000: The Leadership 1000 Scholarship provides college scholarships to students who will be attending an eligible four-year college or university in Washington State. A Leadership 1000 Scholarship can be customized around a general set of requirements requested by the donor. Annual awards range from $2,500-$5,000 per year. Deadline: February 28, 2019 LOUIE FAMILY FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIP: This scholarship is for high school seniors and students who will be attending a college or university in the United States as a freshman during the 2019-2020 academic year. Applicants should have demonstrated outstanding personal achievements, academic merit, leadership qualities and/or community service. Special consideration will be noted for applicants: who have parents that are United States veterans or are currently in the U.S. military; with a demonstrated financial need; with parents who did not attend college; or with a documented significant disability. Deadline: April 2019 SEED FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIP: The SEED Foundation's SEED Scholar Program is proud to support Indian youth with scholarships for higher education. The SEED Scholar program has now developed into one of the largest scholarship programs run by Indians for Indian youth. This scholarship can only cover tuition expenses. Deadline: February 28, 2019 THE DREAM NATIONAL SCHOLARSHIP: National Scholarship is essentially the “Pell Grant” for highly motivated DREAMers with significant, unmet financial need. While we consider your GPA and test scores, we place great emphasis on your demonstrated commitment to community service and your ability to overcome the barriers and challenges that DREAMers face each and every day. The National Scholarship Award will cover your tuition and fees up to a maximum of $14,500 for an associate’s degree and $29,000 for a bachelor’s degree, at one of our Partner Colleges. Please note, some Scholars may be eligible for an additional stipend of up to $4,000 (or $1,000 per year) for books, supplies, and transportation. Deadline: February 28, 2019 WASHINGTON STATE GOVERNOR'S’ SCHOLARSHIP FOR FOSTER YOUTH: This scholarship awards 40-50 scholars each year $2,000-$4,000 to use in an undergraduate program for up to five years. Students must be on track to graduate or obtain their GED by June 2019, and enroll in fall semester of 2019. Students must have been placed by Washington State court order into Foster Care, Guardianship, or Dependency Guardianship. WASHINGTON STATE OPPORTUNITY SCHOLARSHIP: Seniors who are interested in pursuing a high-demand major in science, technology, engineering, math (STEM) or health care. This is a 5-year scholarship that is worth $22,500 and students must be enrolling in a Washington state college or university and have a minimum GPA of 2.75. Application opens January 3, 2017. MARCH DEADLINES ACS SCHOLARS PROGRAM: The American Chemical Society (ACS) Scholars Program awards approximately 100 scholarships to encourage the best and brightest African American, Hispanic and Native American students to pursue undergraduate degrees in the chemical sciences. Deadline: March 1, 2019 ATSUHIKO TATEUCHI MEMEORIAL SCHOLARSHIP-TATEUCHI FOUNDATION:A renewable $5,000 scholarship for students from the Pacific Rim states who demonstrate hard work, dedication and sincerity. Students must have financial need, academic merit and be of Japanese or other Asian ancestry, including multi-ethnic Asians. An essay, two letters of recommendation, resume, transcript and two essays. Two awards will be given out. Deadline: March 1, 2019 FEDERAL WAY ROTARY SCHOLARSHIP: Varying number of scholarships and amounts (range is $1,000 to $3,000) for high school seniors residing in Federal Way School District. Selection is based on financial need, completion of the Federal Way Rotary Club Scholarship Application, official transcript, and four short answer essays. For application instructions and application go to: www.federalwayrotary.org/ Deadline: March 1, 2019 NELLIE MARTIN CARMAN SCHOLARSHIP: This is a nomination only scholarship. Seniors who are U.S. citizens, plan to attend a college or university Washington State. Music or art majors are not eligible. Selection criteria: Academic record, school and community activities, and financial need. If you would like to be considered for this award, see Mrs. Novak in the Career Center. Two students will be nominated. The award is for up to

Deadline: Postmarked by March 1, 2019 PATRICIA FISHER ENDOWED SCHOLARSHIP: This scholarship is for African-American students with a serious interest in careers in print, photo or broadcast journalism. Awards are based on scholastic achievement, financial need, community service, and a commitment to journalism. Scholarship amounts range from $500 to $2,500. Deadline: March 1, 2019 UFCW 21 SCHOLARSHIPS: Eligible students must be members of UFCW or children of members in good standing. One scholarship for $4,000/year for four years, two $3,000 scholarships in a food related field, one $2,000 scholarship for first generation college students as well as six $2,000 scholarships for full time students and 4 $1,000 scholarships for part time students will be awarded. WASHINGTON STATE SCHOOL RETIREES’ ASSOCIATION SCHOLARSHIPS: These awards are given to students who wish to have a career in the field of education. Their degree could be in one of these majors: teacher, counselor, speech therapist, occupational therapist or psychologist and students need a 3.0 GPA. Deadline: March 2, 2019 SOUND CREDIT UNION: Scholarships of $1,000 each will be awarded to seniors with a GPA of 3.0 or higher who are prime members of Sound Credit Union for a minimum of six months prior to the application deadline. The account must be open and active by November 25, 2018 to be eligible. Students are selected based on six weighted categories including academic performance, school and community activities, essay, financial need, and length of membership. Deadline: March 2, 2019 ASSOCIATION OF COMPUTER PROFESSIONALS IN EDUCATION (ACPE) SCHOLARSHIPS: ACPE annually awards scholarships to outstanding students in Washington and Oregon who have demonstrated a high involvement with technology during their high school careers. This year $10,000 has been allocated for scholarships up to $2,000 each to be awarded to graduating high school seniors who are planning to pursue studies in a technology related field.: www.acpenw.org/scholarships. Deadline: No later than 5 pm March 4, 2019 CANCER UNWRAPPED ESSAY CONTEST-WASHINGTON STATE: This essay contest is for students in grades 9-12 who have survived cancer or who have had a friend or family member affected by cancer. Deadline: Varies DAVIS LAW GROUP (DLG) SCHOLAR ATHLETE PROGRAM: This program recognizes outstanding athletes who perform both on the field and in the classroom. Every week, beginning January 1, 2019, two high school seniors in the greater Seattle area are selected as the DLG Scholar Athlete of the Week and are given a $100 award. At the end of the school year, a banquet in honor of the winners and their families is held. One male and one female scholar athlete will be selected as the DLG Scholar Athlete of the Year and will be awarded $1,000 each. Anyone is eligible to nominate a scholar.
