Woodcarving is a creative and often cultural activity that is sought by many as a means of recreation and relaxation. For some participants woodcarving can be a very spiritual and meditative practice, for others it is simply a way to relax and create something aesthetically pleasing with their own two hands.
Jim Olliges is our wood carving instructor here at Lighthouse and has been for more than 20 years. He has been actively wood carving since he was a child. Jim is very passionate about his craft and enjoys sharing his knowledge and talents with those that are interested. He is very patient and takes time with his students both individually and collectively. His class is very popular and provides a warm friendly family environment. They have a great time together and they never hesitate to help one another if needed.
Here at Lighthouse, we are proud of the community the wood carving class has formed and we look forward to many more years creativity and works of art!

Valentine’s Day
also called St. Valentine’s Day, holiday (February 14) when lovers express their affection with greetings and gifts. The holiday has origins in the Roman festival of Lupercalia, held in mid-February. The festival, which celebrated the coming of spring, included fertility rites and the pairing off of women with men by lottery. At the end of the 5th century, Pope Gelasius I replaced Lupercalia with St. Valentine’s Day. It came to be celebrated as a day of romance from about the 14th century.

Just For Laughs Valentine’s Day Inspired Yesterday morning, my wife woke up with a start.
When I asked her what the matter was, she said, "I just had a dream you gave me a diamond ring and diamond earrings for Valentine's day. What do you think it means?"
I winked and said, "You'll know tonight."
In the evening, I came home with a small package and gave it to my wife.
She was delighted and opened it excitedly.
In it was a book called "The meaning of dreams". https://laffgaff.com/funny-valentines-day-jokes-one-liner
