A Teen Residential Program and Community Counseling Center February 2020 E-News Let it Snow! Let it Snow! Let it Snow! There are no better days than snow days on The Joy House campus. To our residents' delight, we got a fair share of snow early this month which made for a playful day in the winter wonderland including snowballs, sledding and even a tractor style "sleigh ride." We are thankful for the beautiful campus God has provided our ministry, and for the ability to have good old fashioned fun together. Check out some pictures from the day by clicking below. The Sherrys Bill and Jane have been incredible houseparents to our girls foralmost three years With their servants hearts they have also made a profounddifference in many other areas of the ministry blessing each one of us alongwith the girls and families theyrsquove served They are now feeling called away toserve some needs in their own family It has not been an easy decision forthem We all would love them to stay but understand their heart and need tomake this decision With this in mind we are beginning the search for our nextgirlrsquos house parents immediately Bill and Jane will continue to serve in theirhouseparent role through the end of June or until we identify and transition innew houseparents whichever comes first
With this in mind we would like to ask you as our partners to help in three ways
Please pray for Bill and Jane as they will be making a move to NorthCarolina and will need to work out jobs housing etcPray for God to bring us the right next couple who can love and invest inour girls and their families as houseparentsPlease share our need in your church community groups and othersocial networks The job posting link on our website is included in thearticle below

families Applicants must be married at least 3 years with no more than 2 children of
their own While modeling a Christian family we ask the houseparents to provide
care nurturing and structure for up to seven teen girls They are supported by a five-
person treatment team all focused on helping one another serve the teen and family
in need

Sometimes the answer is as simple as just being out of practice Christiandisciplines require practice just as do vocation athletics music etc Habits andskills are best learned with repetition over time and they atrophy if notexercised
One such fundamental discipline is Bible reading Reading is a rationalprocess and us humans like to think that knowledge solves all problems Butfaith in knowledge is a great fallacy
