February 7, 2018
Dear Parents & Caregivers, Please note that this Friday, February 9, 2017, will be our “Dads” & Donuts Program at the Columbia North YMCA. The program will start at 8:45am and end by 11am. “Dads” are responsible for bringing their child(ren) to the program and bringing them back to school when the program is over. Also please note that a “DAD” can be a male mentor, grandfather, uncle, coach, etc. Sorry moms… but you CANNOT attend.
Also a special shout to all of the families that have donated $10 to their child’s classroom raffle basket!
Harrell Family -$100
We hope that within the next 3 months, every AFPCS family can commit to participating in donating/supporting or raising at least $100 per child that they have at the school. We have also prepared a Sponsor/Donor Proposal Packet that is available at www.afpcs.org to assist with soliciting support from our jobs or businesses we are associated with. We ask that you check it out and share it with folks that can make a difference for our children. Let’s join together in the TRUE SPIRIT OF ALLIANCE .
Parents it is imperative that you sign up for our text alerts or like us on Facebook, when we experience inclement weather or any emergency as we did this week this is the only way we can notify you of any changes. To sign up:
Send a text for LS messages to: 81010 With the message: @9fw

VISITOR/THREATS POLICY REMINDER:
We strive to maintain a positive and safe school environment. Our staff and administration is willing to meet with parents/guardians to address any and all concerns. All communication will be positive and productive. Respectful communication is required from parents at all times. As well, parents should expect to have positive and respectful communication with staff members. Vulgarity, verbal/physical threats and inappropriate language will not be tolerated during meetings/calls between staff members and parents/guardians. If such behavior should occur during a meeting or phone call, the meeting/call will end. Persons using inappropriate language or exhibiting threatening behavior will be asked to leave the premises and the police will be called if necessary. We must model appropriate, solutions oriented conversations for our children at ALL times and demonstrate that even if we disagree we ARE an ALLIANCE for PROGRESS.
