Host Minister’s MessageOn behalf of the Province of Nova Scotia, I extend a warm welcome to all participants in the Craft East Buyers’ Expo and the presentation of the 2019 At-lantic Canada Craft Awards for Excellence.
The Atlantic Provinces are rich in arts and culture, and the work of our craftspeople con-tributes to provincial pride and enhances the communities in which we work and live.
The province of Nova Scotia is proud to host this year’s trade show and applauds the commitment of organizers and exhibi-tors in promoting and developing the craft industry in Atlantic Canada. Their efforts have brought international recognition to our provinces and provided numerous opportunities for cul-tural development, appreciation and significant contributions to the creative economy.

Craft Alliance ~ Alliance métiers d’arts is excited to present the 2nd annual Craft East Buyers’ Expo — we are happy to have a sold-out show for 2019, with many new emerging craft producers, along with many returning exhibitors as well. The new direction, format and venue presents the best Atlantic Canada has to offer in handmade craft, giftware and apparel products from the region.
Throughout 2018-19 we continue to expand our wholesale and export market opportunity for Atlantic craft producers with our Craft LAB incubator project at the Toronto Gift Fair, now happening twice a year, with great success. We have had 28 companies from across Atlantic Canada participate in this project. Together with our government partners and industry representatives we hope to further the goals of assisting in the development of the craft sector in our region.
Craft Alliance also refined and updated our web portal, tech-nology projects are always a work in progress. The web portal connects retailers and craft producers throughout the year, to further encourage ongoing development, wholesale orders and relationship building. Both retailers and craft producers need to ensure they complete their online profiles, so they can explore the many aspects of the portal.
