Please remember to let Donna Teynor know which class you would like to do your

introduction to the class members at. Here is a list of what she would like you

Why have you stayed with the MGV association

What does the community, public, group or facility that you are involved

with gain from your participation

If you wish to stay for the class you can get continuing education hours for your

Crawford County’s MG Association’s Mission Statement: We TEACH, LEARN, LEAD and SERVE, connecting with the University of Wisconsin and engaging with them in transforming lives and communities.

"An EEO/AA employer, University of Wisconsin Extension provides equal opportunities in employment and

programming, including Title IX and the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) requirements."

Highlighting MGVs for February

Caprice Ellefson: She was first certified in 2017 and is currently serving as Vice-President and Editor of the monthly local newsletter. She is originally from Kenosha, WI and is now residing outside of Boscobel, WI on a 40-acre property that she refers to as “the little farm”. She became an MGV because she wanted to make new friends with gardening interests after she retired. This turned into a joy for volunteering and helping others in our communities to enjoy and learn about gardening and related subjects.

“I am learning so much from the other MGVs and enjoy their friendship and willingness to help

and teach. And it is fun to help out on projects and events that I didn’t even know about

before.”

Joe Morovits: He was first certified in 2017. He is originally from the Seneca-Lynxville area

but now resides just outside of Prairie du Chien. He wanted to become an MGV, like so many

others, because he wanted to make new friends with gardening interests. He enjoys flower

gardening the most but now he also enjoys volunteering and helping others enjoy gardening

and to share his knowledge.

“I am finding it fun to help out on projects and it is great that I’m learning as I go, too.”

Deb Rider: She was first certified in 2008 in St. Croix county while she lived in River Falls,

WI and worked at 3M in St. Paul, MN. She joined because she wanted to meet others with

similar interests and learn more about different kinds of gardening. She retired and moved

back to Crawford County in 2010 and currently lives on a tiny piece of land near Eastman

with several critters. The miniature donkeys are her special buddies. And she is hoping to

get bee hives up and running this spring. She works part-time at the Prairie du Chien

library and LOVES it. Being a part of the Crawford County MGVs has allowed her to

become reacquainted with her hometown and meet a new and interesting group of like-

minded people.
